Fun, if sometimes silly, cozy mysteries. The first series seemed like a great parody of cozy and holiday mysteries both. But the main characters are very likable and aren’t simpering idiots. Great narration by all the cast. I played it at 90% speed which was an easier pace for me to listen as a bedtime story…and it made the story last longer. I’m really looking forward to the next installment. Wish there were more in the works that would come out faster than 1x a year.

Great story...Anne Hillerman has hit her stride

This is the best Anne Hillerman story thus far. Every story before this one seemed so thin and light. This one seemed to add so much more additional detail to paint a beautiful word picture of the characters and the region that just seemed lacking before.

I like this narrator better too...Except for his mispronunciation of Canyon de Chelly. I really wish narrators would research words that might have specific pronunciations.

Continuing the story of Posadas County

As always, I enjoyed hearing more about the lives of the people in Posadas County. But once again I am distracted by Stephanie Brush’s consistent mispronunciation of certain Spanish words and other commonly known words. It’s comical but annoying. I cannot understand why no editor or reviewer has ever told her of her mistakes. I also thought adding in the male narrator for Bill Gastner was jarring and was not necessary for this story.
