Historia
When Autobiography of a Yogi first appeared in 1946, it was acclaimed as a landmark work in its field. The New York Times hailed it as "a rare account". Newsweek pronounced it "fascinating". The San Francisco Chronicle declared, "Yogananda presents a convincing case for yoga, and those who 'came to scoff' may remain 'to pray." Today it is still one of the most widely read and respected books ever published on the wisdom of the East.

Love this audiobook
Revisado: 01-29-23
Ben Kingsley reading Yogananda … can it get better than that? First read this on a long train trip in India. Just as captivating now as it was then and on every listen or reading in between. Profound wisdom, insight and love.

Great Book
Revisado: 07-20-20
Written very neutrally, she brings you into their very messed up family dynamic and explains it journalistically, in other words, while she’s a part of it, she’s able to explain it as if an outsider looking in. She unfolds the family story until the pinnacle at the end, bringing together the bizarre family “rules” and how this negative dynamic churned a person like Trump, the President we are now grappling with. She explains the origin of his psychology and how his response to such issues as the coronavirus are par for the course, given the family he grew up in and the rigid rules set up by the father, Fred Trump. Very disturbing to hear it, but it explains a lot!!! And more than anything, even if he weren’t president, she tells a great story with both her writing style and insight.

Hard to match Career of Evil
Revisado: 06-15-20
After a perfectly taut and suspenseful novel, this one just failed to capture much inspiration. Worth a listen, but glad it’s over.
