A few phrases were repeated directly after their first reading, & seemed out of place. Don't know if this was a reading error, text error, or intentional(?). Otherwise, the reading was crystal clear. The book content itself, however, was a bit dryer than expected.

what a downer. sweet memoir for a series of dead pets, and narrator did a lovely job, but the author's unexpected trashing of her mother opens the book and each chapter ends with the pet dying. so, yes, we all love our pets to the moon and back!, but I bought this in hardcover to gift to my young nieces and then had a friend forewarn me to read it first. so glad I gave it a listen. this is wholly inappropriate for their age level.l and i cant ever gift it with the family trashing that it opens with.
(note: I'm empathetic to the writer's need to journal on her painful childhood. it just makes it something i can't gift to childten.)

Bought this for late nite listening. And, o.m.g.... it's like falling asleep to the most idyllic, comforting, lullaby.
i Love it!

World's best book. Last read it 35years ago. Shaped my world outlook. And, the story"a so beautiful and so immersive, its events and characters formed memories lthat linger, as though they were my own lived dxperience.
The narration was beautiful as well. I can't imagine that anyone else could have done it better.
a sheer delight, for both mind and ear.

Maybe not deep enough for many, but kudos for a beautiful demonstration on how to be clear and succinct. I can learn a great lesson from that alone, and will listen again purely for that reason.

Too sale-sy for my enjoyment. But, there's some decent info here, and the author also makes a lot of products free or discounted to audio purchasers, so maybe of interest to some.
it's a topic that I'm studying for school, though, so I'll listen again with an open mind to ensure that I don't miss stuff of concept value before I move on to the next.

A concept worthy of consideration.

Interesting concept. A little disconcerting regarding how dismissive the doctor is regarding anything anything anything that seems to be a potential caveat or contradiction to his theory. Maybe he's right? But, it would have been nice to hear more balanced discussion on those seeming caveats,, and reviews or supports from other credible doctors as to whether & why or why not they support his theory and his easy dismissal of all other views and diagnoses.
Addotionally, it's not been my experience that it is easy to retrain one's brain. Some discussion on dealing with immediate pains whilst trying to get a grip on one's brain, conflicting education/experience, and emotions would be helpful. Separately, more research and support via the science behind how this actually comes about in the body would be an enlightening addition once available.
Still a decent rating because it's an interesting concept from a doc with alot of years experience -- so worthy of consideration.
