Loved it!
Revisado: 01-03-25
When I found out this story continued from the Aniri and Ash as the romantic couple, I was nervous it would be a wishy washy mindset, so often done where it feels forced. But it wasn’t. The romance continued to feel natural. This is a well plotted, incredibly written story. The narrator does an awesome job bringing out the characters. Love it. On to the third book.

I love her writing style
Revisado: 11-19-24
The book was a delight. I read on my kindle and listened on audible. The narrator brought me into the story and did a great job with voices. The plot was entertaining and pushed me through the story. There are a lot of characters. My only struggle in the book was from getting confused with titles and people. But, it wasn’t enough to get lost. Plus, I love the writing style and will be reading more of this author’s books.

Loved the story and the narrator
Revisado: 11-01-24
I liked that this story had all the elements of paranormal romance that I love: magic, adventure, and romance. The narrator did an excellent job with different voices and adding an acting flare to draw you into the story.

Historia
Not everyone knows about the Club, which is by design. The main floor entertains the elite. There are dim lights and stolen touches, and the liquor flows to ensure the guests get exactly what they want. But it’s what lies beneath these floors, down the spiral staircase, that intrigues me the most. There’s a man who stays in the corner of the darkest rooms. In this world of sinful tastes, he is the ruler, the devil, the boss. Declan Cross. I knew him once when times were different, and the years have changed everything.

Nice open door scenes
Revisado: 10-23-24
First, I’m not into bully/mob romance or bdsm. But every once in a while I step out and try something different. The writing is well done. I was pulled into the story. The readers were engaging and it was entertaining.
If you like bdsm and mobster, don’t touch her tropes, this is a book to consider. The sex scenes are hot.
***spoilers***
It’s a four star for me because of the mc. Twenty-five, divorced from an abusive man, enters into a loving relationship with a mobster… it’s the whole learn from your mistakes and grow, pot to kettle, no character growth. Not for me. Second, it ends on a cliff hanger. I won’t go to second book. Just didn’t like the mc enough to find out.

Enjoyable Story
Revisado: 07-04-24
The story of Jennifer and her encounter with magical creatures is a fun, long, almost to innocent, story. She goes on twist and turns. By the end, you feel like you’ve been on the journey with her and you’ve come to know the characters.
The writer handled the age gap well and explained it to where it didn’t feel cringey.
What I didn’t like was how words were repeated… ‘Then” was used to carry the story forward. People sighed often. Dani ruffled everyone’s hair paragraph after paragraph.
I didn’t like how it seemed more like the characters were in high school at times and not college. They didn’t seem mature enough for college.
For the audible…
I liked the reader’s chuckle. She did a great job changing voices. Sometimes, though, it read flat, no emotions.
All around, I enjoyed the story enough to buy the next ebook and audible. I can’t wait to find out what is next.

Not for me, but a good story
Revisado: 06-21-24
This is a Snow White retelling. The narrator has a great voice. I loved how she switched to Snow Whites voice, going from British to an almost 1950’s American glam voice.
The story is good, but not for me. I liked that Snow whites brother called her violent. I laughed every time. I thought the story was original. I liked the typical role reversal.
So why is it not for me? What I didn’t like was the writer’s style. Im not an emotional person. It’s very wordy and lavish. I found myself not paying attention with the over the top I loves you… and this is what you mean to me… how shall I compare you… blah blah blah. That and the info history dump on the importance of their relationship. That seemed rushed and confusing.
That said, I think most ppl will love this story.

Excellent
Revisado: 04-21-24
Each book gets better and better. In this the audible is clear and concise. It’s easy to get lost in the story because the inflections are well done.
The story is excellent. I love the witty responses of the characters and the well thought out plot. The characters are strong and clearly defined.

I liked the first book, but this book I loved. I loved how she continued to deepen the character arcs. She does a good job of having differing opinions owned by the characters. Well done.

Incredible Story and Production
Revisado: 12-28-23
Lisa Cordileone might be my favorite audible reader of all time. She did an incredible job changing voices and bringing drama to the story. The story itself was both original and gripping. When I bought the book, I went in without knowing what to expect, worried that collecting a card set would be stupid, but it wasn’t. For me, this story was probably the best book I read all year, which includes several incredible titles.
What an epic book to end an epic year (2023).
Time to read book 2.
