Great book
Revisado: 03-03-25
This book is probably the most original book I’ve ever read. Never heard of a story like this. This book is basically two stories written into one. One of those stories is of the past during the war and I wish the story description mentioned it because I wasn’t really fond of the war love story. The author has an odd way of intertwining the past and the present which was confusing. Especially since you wouldn’t remember any dates. And a lot of times the past story would backtrack to a later time which made it difficult to follow. The last few chapters and the plot twist pulled me in the most. I didn’t care for the characters for most of the story then all of a sudden when pieces were pieced together towards the end I started getting emotional

Aoife is annoying
Revisado: 02-21-25
I would have never thought from the first story that Aoife would be this annoying. They don’t belong together at all. Joey was forced to mature and needs someone that can handle what he’s going through but Aoife is immature for her age.
1. Her relationship with Paul irritated tf out of me. She knows Paul was cheating kept taking him back then had the nerve to be mad at him for nearly 4 years. Which became very repetitive. Every other time it was her chapter she was on and on complaining about how she didn’t like Paul but was going to stay with him anyway or was mad that he was cheating again. Not to mention she gets mad at Joey for knowing he was cheating as if she didn’t already know.
2. She finally finds out that he’s getting abused at home and still gets mad when he can’t do certain things? How dense can you be? He would say that he needs to be home to protect his siblings and she would try to talk him out of it which didn’t sit right with me. I understand that she’s worried for him but he wouldn’t forgive himself if he wasn’t there for them because his girl distracted him with some 😺.
3. Insanely dumb reckless behavior. You find out that he’s getting abused at home and decide to pull up unannounced? That’s the most stupid thing I listened to. You don’t just purposely go to an abusers front door. And she also curses out his father which could’ve went so south. If he has no issues beating on his children then realistically he wouldn’t have had an issue putting his hands on her which is why is was reckless for her to show up alone in the first place. She also threatens Shane the drug dealer 🙄. She can’t keep threatening these big bad people and expect nothing to happen. At this point her courage was making her look stupid.
Bottom line, Shannon and Johnny’s story was a lot better and I was very disappointed in this story. I will read the next one because I need to know what happens so hopefully it gets better

Historia
I’m wealthy, powerful, and able to get any woman I want. So why do I feel so empty inside? In search of a deeper me, I take a sabbatical from my privileged life. One year of backpacking around Europe: a new identity, no contacts, and no money. Not a bad plan, I think. Until I get there. A crowded hostel room, body odor, and beer bongs—there are no words for the fresh hell I’ve landed in. But amid the chaos, I meet my new roommate, Hayden Whitmore. She sleeps in the bed opposite me, and I openly admit to staring at her more than I sleep.

The story is good halfway through
Revisado: 02-16-25
Spoiler: it’s 17min left and they are not officially back together so I just know this ending is going to be rushed. This is the worst Miles book out of the series. Bottom line… they should not be together AT ALL. All of the miles brothers does something stupid or act like an asshole at some point but man he is terrible the whole book and she irritates me for putting up with it. The story was decent for half the story but the last half is just terrible. All these 4 and 5 star reviews must be from immature youngsters because this wasn’t romantic at all.
1: he lies to her for a YEAR about his real self then forces her to be okay with it . Tells her where he actually lives and does for a living the day he’s taking her there and it’s manipulative and disgusting. Then gets irritated with her every time she calls him out
2: he actively tells her that he can’t change his lifestyle for her but literally forces her to. This girl is literally depressed because she moved away from home to be with a man she barely even sees because of his work and he gets irritated with her and gives her the cold shoulder.
3: this was the breaking point for me. When it was clear that they shouldn’t be together at all. He uses her body. Months after they break up they see each other again and in the mist they have sex but it’s clear he’s not making love to her but using her like the other endless women he fcked. She realizes he’s using her and he knows that she knows. When he’s done he walks off leaving her there crying and afterwards all is forgiven like it didn’t even happen. If she had some respect for herself then she wouldn’t have gotten back together with him after that but because of plot armor and the need of a happy ending they get back together in literally the last 15 fcking minutes

My favorite hobby is infuriating Elliot Miles. Just the sight of my boss’s handsome face triggers my sarcasm. God knows how he earns his Casanova reputation—if a million women want him with his personality, what the heck am I doing wrong? Disgusted with my love life, I join a dating app under a fake name. I start chatting to a man named Edgar. He’s not my type and lives on the other side of the world, but we hit off a friendship, laugh and confide in each other. But lately things are getting weird at work. Elliot’s being...attentive.

The best so far out of the three
Revisado: 12-24-24
If you liked the first two but there was some things that made you go “ehhhh” TRUST this one is so much better. This FMC doesn’t take bs like the first two did and though I wished she wasn’t acting like a broken hearted schoolgirl at times she defended herself when needed. Plus it’s a green flag when the MMC gave her the space she needed instead of forcing her to get back with him.
My negatives are that the author is clearly lazy when it comes to descriptions. “Just fcked dark hair and tanned skin” is used for all three brothers so far and nothing else besides the eye color and it’s hard to imagine how they’d look. Same with all of the FMC in the three books. Very little descriptions.

Historia
I first met Tristan Miles at a meeting where he was trying to take over my late husband’s company. He was powerful, arrogant, and infuriatingly gorgeous, and I hated him with every cell in my body. In the shock of the century, he called me three days later and asked me on a date. I would rather die than date a man like him - though I do have to admit it was good for the ego. Turning him down was the highlight of my year.

Main girl annoying asf
Revisado: 12-20-24
I’m so tired of these authors making it seem like women are these mindless beings that can’t make decisions. I understand why in the beginning she didn’t want to be in a relationship with him because of the kids, but after he treats them as if their his own and fight for them she turns back around and say they’ll never be his? WTF DO YOU WANT? You wanted a man to treat your kids as if they’re his own and when he does you get mad? What? Beware that in this story they get back together and break up like 7 times it’s ridiculous

Great story
Revisado: 07-31-24
My only issue is that Sophie seems quite immature. What’s the point of going to therapy for what 4 years now just to be in the same mindset. Seems like every couple minutes she’s bawling her eyes out and she didn’t seem this irritating in the first book. I feel like Neil and El Mudad often have to talk to her like she’s a child which is annoying because what’s the point of all these time jumps if she hasn’t grown and maybe digressed. She has gone through a lot but making a big deal of turning 30 just to act 23 feels like a slap to the face.

No trauma like the others
Revisado: 07-23-24
This book is definitely the calm after a storm. Yes there is still a bit of drama, but without the trauma the others had and it’s very refreshing. Everything seems to be heading to a positive direction. Their relationship with El Mudad is blossoming, Sophie trying to figure out what to do with her life, Neil being a supportive husband and pulling himself together for his family. I just wish they didn’t have to go through so much trauma to get here.

For Sophie Scaife and her husband, billionaire Neil Elwood, coupling the domesticity of marriage and their steamy games of dominance and submission comes naturally. Rekindling their sinfully kinky affair with an old flame makes their passion burn hotter than ever, and Neil's lust for Sophie is matched only by his drive in undertaking an ambitious new philanthropic venture. But in the wake of Neil's greatest triumph comes a staggering life change that neither of them is prepared for.

Traumatic drama instead of romance
Revisado: 07-20-24
Performance: as always the accents is terrible but if you’ve gotten to this point it doesn’t bother you
Story: I feel like this book and the second one where literally the whole book is a cancer story, proves that this isn’t a romance. Yes it has romantic scenes and erotic scenes, but it’s more so of a sick traumatic drama. One bad thing after another in this series and it’s gotten to the point where it’s not needed and extremely exaggerated. The inappropriate age gap, the abortion to the whole book being about his cancer, to the best friend break up that shouldn’t have gotten back together, his mom dying, the alcohol and drug addiction, depression, and now after all these major occurrences two major characters die????? That’s fckin insane and not in a good way. This isn’t the type of twist and turns and emotional roller coaster I seek for in a book. I hate when authors think it’s good to have so much conflict because it becomes overwhelming.

Pls listen to sample first
Revisado: 07-10-24
The voice acting is terrible. They should’ve gotten a male to read for the men, because surprisingly there’s a lot of men that get introduced and she never fails to butcher their voices. It doesn’t make it any better that anytime the author introduces someone, their accent is described just for them to sound like something else. Neil sounds like an old British lady that smokes instead of Scottish. Rudy was described to be a black male with a country accent but instead sounds like a cowboy in a western movie cosplaying as a rich woman. They shouldn’t have been cheap and got someone that could actually do all these accents since it’s apparent to the story. I listened to the next one and it’s quite the nightmare when she meets Neil family, his Scottish family with supposed accents.
Their age gap has been a consistent conflict throughout the series that is constantly brought up. But I feel like a different conflict should’ve been picked, because with the type of person Neil was described to be, he would not be with someone that lied about their age. Realistically that would’ve been the end of the story lol. Even if she didn’t lie about her age and was 30 instead of 24, age still could’ve been a conflict just not as drastic. I just feel bad for him because he said he was dreaming of her and fell in love since they met, which means he was dreaming of a 18 year old girl all those years thinking she was 24 :(. Dreaming about someone the same age as his daughter :(
Writers need to understand that not all conflict is good conflict, it just looks like bad writing.

It’s alright
Revisado: 07-10-24
It’s okay. The voices for the men is still terrible but if you’ve gotten this far then it doesn’t bother you that much.
For the story the characters could’ve been written a lot better. I know conflict is needed in a story but sometimes if it’s too much then it seems like bad writing. It was so many times when Sophie was crying and I got so irritated. Like WHAT ARE YOU CRYING FOR! Terrible ending.
Spoiler!!
Like I said so know conflict is needed but these are some things I consider as bad writing. For a 50 year old Neil is quite immature. He has a lot of baggage and never really stood up for Sophie yet it’s written off as meh it is what it is. He kept allowing Valerie to treat her like sht then finally at the end he’s like iM nOt sTUpiD I kNOw shE seEs mE moRe ThAN jUST a FrIEnd. So then why tf didn’t you solve the issue before and let it go on for so long? Typical guy bs and it’s written like it’s okay.
The whole bs with the best friend. Basically most of the ending with this book was bs. They shouldn’t have became friends again that was just terrible writing. Holly gaslighted Sophie into thinking she was at fault that Dajah lost her job and stayed mad at her and didn’t talk for months WHEN SHE KNEW THAT DAJAH WAS IN THE WRONG THE WHOLE TIME! She knew Sophie wasn’t in the wrong but literally created the issue. And Sophie brushed it off like it was nothing? The relationships in this book is just huge balls of gaslighting and miscommunication.
The author will not gaslight me into thinking any of this was okay.
