Historia
With the plot against them foiled and the city of Qi-Katai in safe hands, newlywed and tentative lovers Velasin and Caethari have just begun to test the waters of their relationship. But the wider political ramifications of their marriage are still playing out across two nations, and all too soon, they're summoned north to Tithena's capital city, Qi-Xihan, to present themselves to its monarch.

AAA story with AAA voices
Revisado: 11-17-24
An amazing follow-up to A Strange and Stubborn Endurance. Same voice actors, same couple, different harrowing adventures and brand new steamy sections. I do so hope that there will be a 3rd installment, but this series is absolutely going in my top 3

Velasin vin Aaro never planned to marry at all, let alone a girl from neighboring Tithena. When an ugly confrontation reveals his preference for men, Vel fears he’s ruined the diplomatic union before it can even begin. But while his family is ready to disown him, the Tithenai envoy has a different solution: for Vel to marry his former intended’s brother instead.

This whole, entire collection of words...
Revisado: 11-16-24
Very rarely do I have the pleasure of connecting, fully and unashamedly, with a character as I did with Velasin. It hurt, in some instances, seeing my own thought processes in such a stark light but the care and love that has gone into creating his being, and that of his wonderful beau Caethari, as well as the ENTIRE world this story takes place in was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The characters are then brought to life by these two wonderful VA's into such a whirlwind of romance, edged in knives and roses alike, that I found myself riveted and enthralled by the story. I will be coming back to this story again and again.

Left me on the edge of my seat
Revisado: 03-26-24
There was several points in this book that had me biting my nails, in tears, or raving mad (at the plot/characters, not the writing). Adrienne is VERY good at keeping the reader invested and engaged, and Kirt is by far. one of the best VA's out there.

A nude man invades Luca Suarez's home and protects him from creatures who cannot exist. Creatures hunting him. The stranger can't tell Luca why. He can't even tell Luca his name. He remembers nothing until the moment he sees Luca. The only hint Luca has to the stranger's identity is a tattoo on his wrist: "N o X". Nox doesn't know who he is, but he's sure of three things, his memory loss is temporary, the monsters chasing Luca are called Anubis, and his Alpha, Koda, sent Nox to protect him. There's just one problem.... Koda is Luca's brother who was murdered five years ago.

Best book in a while
Revisado: 03-26-24
I'm in love with this series, and the start of it is a banger. You'll start with questions that get answered by the end of the book (or the next one) and Kirt Graves is one of my absolutely FAVORITE VA's. I'm almost done with the 2nd book and I'm frothing at the mouth in impatience for the 3rd book to come out.
if you like magical/sci-fi military romance then you'll definitely enjoy this.

Historia
Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fan-fiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right? After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City’s mightiest hero (and Nick’s biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And he’ll do it with or without the reluctant help of Seth Gray, Nick's best friend (and maybe the love of his life).

Captain Jamie Callahan is running out of time in his efforts to outsmart an enemy metahuman. As Alpha Team’s long-running mission gets derailed in the worst way possible, Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin discovers the enemy is playing for keeps, and neither he nor Agent Sean Delaney are in any position to escape what’s in store for them.

Oh boy... This one was hard for me
Revisado: 08-19-19
I love this series but this book was by far the hardest for me to listen to. I will warn you now, if physical and psychological torture is a trigger for you, you probably might want to skip certain parts of this. I had to stop and start those sections myself because it was written and acted very well...
This was a very brutal book but I still give it a whopping 5/5, because it was AMAZING. I can't wait for the next book to come out and part of me hopes the books in between the main ones will get done.

Historia
Staff Sergeant Alexei Dvorkin has a history with spies that typically ends with most of them dead. But Agent Sean Delaney is proving to be the frustrating exception to every one of Alexei’s rules of engagement. As part of Alpha Team’s long-running mission to stop an enemy metahuman, the two are constantly forced to work together, resulting in a simmering attraction neither can ignore. When the MDF tasks them with finding evidence of criminal wrongdoing against the owner of a private military company, Sean knows exactly how to play the game to win.

Another amazing story!
Revisado: 05-07-19
Third book in this series and I can't wait for the others. Hailey Turner's world is an amazing, futuristic place that has enough background to understand what's going on without getting drowned in history. Her characters all have their own quirks and personalities and it's amazing to watch how the interact with one another.
Greg Boudreaux brings this amazing world to life with his on-point, nigh incomparable skills. Each character has their own voice, their own accent, and their own sense of life. The growls, whines, and hitches he places in the characters voices when needed makes this seem less like a novel and more like the audio for a movie. I absolutely love this man's work and own several of his works and I can't wait to see what else he brings to us.
Please listen to the first two books before listening to this one. While you get some history throughout, it'll make more sense and bring the whole thing together if you have the past books to build off of. The fact that it helps support the author and narrator is a bonus to the enjoyment you'll get for following this series.

I absolutely love both TJ and Greg and them coming together for this was... Nothing short of amazing. Greg's narration and acting brought me to tears and the story, as I've come to expect from TJ, was emotional and breathtaking. I really hope these two team up again because I'm pretty sure we could all use the eargasms that Greg's voice partnered with TJ's words produce.

Revisado: 05-14-18
I have absolutely loved this series. TJ Klune does a wonderful job in creating this fantastical world and characters. Michael Lesley is one of the best narrators I've come across. Each character has their own voice personality, and it's easy to tell who is who. I think this is my favorite book out of the three so far, and I can't wait to hear the finale whenever that comes out.
