I enjoyed listening to this book. I was able to listen to it in short segments so having it broken up into short stories was a bonus. I'm not sure it would have worked as well if I had of tried to listen to it in one shot.
The book reminds me of a lighter funnier Dresden Files, which would be suitable for a younger listener.

In under 30 minutes, you can finish this book before the pizza arrives. A quick light hearted short story which is funny and enjoyable to listen to.

A strong book two in a developing series

An easy book to listen to which draws you in to the story.
To truly enjoy this book listen to Travel Glasses first. The second book wastes no time with backstory and jumps right into the action. Calla is thrust headlong into a quest with a group of enjoyable partners.
A minor pet peeve of mine is at times some of the future technology doesn't seem to be well thought out. Time travel is possible but a screen projector still has to warm up before turning on. Insight Kindling is still well worth the read.

I enjoyed the book, it was a good listen which I was happy to keep turning on during the car trip. Younger listeners were riveted and couldn't wait. Well read listeners will be quick to note the many borrowed themes in the book, orphan gets magical powers at 13, main characters making stupid decisions, history lessons, and an over protective body guard. Despite this I don't think anyone will be disappointed with this book.

A fun entertaining read with some mild annoyances

Yes, This book was light and was fun to listen to.

Which character – as performed by Jeff Hays – was your favorite?

Jeff Hays did a great job performing the book, to such an extent I assumed it was at least two people performing the book.

Any additional comments?

The world which Conneely created is fun and I look forward to exploring it in other books. A parallel world where magic creatures are common place yet is plagued by mundane problems. The main character, Michelle is likable but was a little whiny and annoying at times.

Lighthearted and easy to listen to

Cheesy Sci-Fi

What other book might you compare Aaron Maxwell to and why?

With roots in other lighter Sci-Fi books, it almost feels like a mixture of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, the computer game Space Quest, and Lost in Space. Cheesy silly at times but still enjoyable to listen to.

A good story with some minor performance annoyance

A great story which will fill even the longest commute or workout. The only complaint is the audio has been enhanced in places. The computer voice has a robot filter which at best is annoying and at worst garbled. The transition sounds is loud and high pitched. It doesn't fit with the rest of the audio.
