Historia
How did the Wendels, one of New York’s most famous Gilded Age families, disappear from history? The Wendels built a fortune from New York real estate, and rubbed shoulders with the Astors, Vanderbilts, and Stuyvesants. But as the 19th century came to an end, the Wendel family tore itself apart. Following six years of painstaking archival research, Claire Prentice has prised open the door of the Wendels’ Fifth Avenue mansion—dubbed “the house of mystery” by the press—to reveal a fascinating and dysfunctional family imprisoned in a gilded cage.

Historia
The words of Jesus remind Christians that-even though we do not know the date when He will return-we need to have our finger on the pulse of what is happening morally, spiritually, and politically in our world. And with the increasing chaos, division, and war happening today, it is right to ask, "Are we living in the end times now?" In this book, Dr. Robert Jeffress provides biblical answers to seven frequently asked questions about the future: 1. What Does the Bible Mean by the End Times?; 2. What Role Does Israel Play in the End Times?; 3. What News Events Signal the End Times?

This is a wonderful book by Dr. Jefferess. He points out scripture while answering questions that many Christians may have concerning the future of Earth as it is and what life will be like after the New Earth and New Heaven are put in place by God and how we get to that period of time..

Historia
Orphaned at a young age, Edith Stuyvesant Dresser claimed lineage from one of New York's best known families. She grew up in Newport and Paris, and her engagement and marriage to George Vanderbilt was one of the most watched events of Gilded Age society. But none of this prepared her to be mistress of Biltmore House. Before their marriage, the wealthy and bookish Vanderbilt had dedicated his life to creating a spectacular European-style estate on 125,000 acres of North Carolina wilderness.

I liked the information that this book has in it and recommend it for anyone who wants to start raising Chickens. Note: Be prepared to be a little bit subjected to her opinions not on the chickens but on what you need to do to ensure that you are not neglecting the earth and the environment by using materials that are not biodegradable. Overall...I recommend it.

Absolutely Wonderful
Revisado: 06-23-22
I first heard of The Indigo Girl while on a historical boat tour of the river where rice was planted, worked and harvested on the lands now known as BrookGreen Gardens in Murrell's Inlet SC. My interest was peaked and Natasha Boyd brought this young woman's rich history to life through her book. I highly recommend this as a must read for anyone interested in South Carolina and US History! Although the book historical fiction Ms. Boyd did her homework and stayed as close to what the true documents told her and only embellished where necessary to keep the story interesting.

Francine Rivers Never Dissapoints
Revisado: 02-26-22
I've read all of Francine Rivers Books and have enjoyed every one. Her research of the history around the time frame of her story lines are impeccable. The narrator does a great job reading while making each character come alive. The Lady is Mine takes place in the Sierra Nevada's during the gold boom. The main characters have lots to overcome especially Katherine Walsh, a strong willed young woman raised by her stepfather and Mother. Her stepfather didn't like that Katherine was passionate about women's rights so he exiled her with very little money. Her mother turned over the inheritance given to her by Katherine's uncle whom she thought was the who convinced her first husband, Katherine's father to abandon them to go in search of gold mines and riches in the west far away from their Boston home. With no where else to go Katherine sets out to go west trusting God with everything.
