Historia
Amy has terrible taste in men. She's dated guys who cheated on her, beat her, and threatened to kill her, but none of them come close to Mark. At first, Mark is the ideal boyfriend—kind, smart, attractive, and funny. But as their relationship deepens, the charming facade crumbles showing his true colors. He calls her all the time. He gets angry if she doesn't respond to his messages within minutes. He gets irrationally jealous and possessive. By the time Amy decides to leave Mark, it's already too late. He knows too much about her, and he'll stop at nothing to keep her to himself.

Completely Unbelievable
Revisado: 03-06-25
There are so many things in this book that are not believable at all. In the beginning the main character is portrayed to be a strong, independent woman. Yet, she folds so easily into being controlled by her unstable ex-boyfriend. She literally thinks he can't be hurt. And she never knew that her best friend since high school had a half-sister! Wished I hadn't purchased this one.

Disapointing
Revisado: 02-21-23
I am a big Freida McFadden fan and until now have enjoyed every book of hers thst I have read. This one was horrible. The "growth" on Abe's back was the most ridiculous part of the story and had me wishing I never purchased this book.

Historia
Fran finds her standing by the swings. A little girl, Esther, no older than seven years old, by herself in the dead of night, her pretty but old-fashioned yellow dress covered in grass stains and her hair dishevelled. She says she's waiting for Father, and that strikes Fran as particularly odd. After Esther is reunited with her family, Fran can't stop thinking about this pious child whose imaginary friend is God. Fran's instincts tell her something is very wrong. Why does Esther keep running away from home, and how did she get that bruise on her leg?

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-31-21
I have never actually quit reading a book...always hoping it will get better. i quit reading this one. The story was such a stretch to connect and believe. Not a 'thriller' at all. The English narrator was not good at all with her American accent. The characters lived in Arizona yet she gave some of them a southern twang accent.

I had a plan to escape the friend zone. Step one: sneak into Reed’s room. Step two: sleep with him. But when the lights turned on, it wasn’t familiar blue eyes I saw. These were dark, angry, and full of demons. And they belonged to Reed’s much-older brother. Four years later, Nash Prescott is no longer the help’s angry son. I’m no longer the town’s prized princess. At 22, I’m broke, in need of a job. At 32, he’s a billionaire, in need of revenge.

A waste of time. The word game played throughout this book was distracting overdone. I have never wanted to stop reading a book more than this one but thought 'oh, maybe it will get better.' It didn't.

The community of Prosperous, Maine has always thrived when others have suffered. Its inhabitants are wealthy, its children’s future secure. It shuns outsiders. It guards its own. And at the heart of Prosperous lie the ruins of an ancient church, transported stone by stone from England centuries earlier by the founders of the town. But the death of a homeless man and the disappearance of his daughter draw the haunted, lethal private investigator Charlie Parker to Prosperous.

The reveal of the killer and his motives was a real letdown. His reason for the abductions/killings was absurd.

This book was absolutely unbelievable. What a waste of my time. Two supposedly 'sane' adults (and perfect strangers to boot) coerced into performing sex acts on each other by his mentally deranged mother while she watched...and they couldn't figure out to get out of it?!? So completely ridiculous.
