Historia
Aspiring musician Ruby Tucker has had enough of her small rural town and dysfunctional family. But a falling out with her best friend and bandmate has killed her dreams of escaping and making it big in the Atlanta punk scene. While helping her eccentric neighbor organize his religious artifacts, an ancient ring clamps down on her finger—possessing her with the spirit of a blood-thirsty demon. There’s no exorcizing it unless hundreds of people chant a spell to set Ruby free.

amazing but not as good as his others
Revisado: 12-17-24
although it was an amazing book to most standards, this would have to be the weakest of his novels. so far. I enjoyed the ideas and how they pertained to the rest of his books. The way they all seem to be participating in the same universe is amazing and to get more of that universe was great. the problem was that this story was just not as compelling as the others. it did not feel as though the stakes were as high and it never truly felt like anybody could really die that wasn't supposed to. the voice acting was great for the song was overplayed

Historia
Ataegina was an isolated world of medieval castles, varied cultures, and conquests, vibrant until the demons rose and spread relentless destruction. Swarms of lethal creatures with black husks, murderous claws, barbed tails, and dreaded “tooth-tongues” raged through the lowlands, killing 90 percent of the planet’s population. Terrified survivors fled to hidden mountain keeps where they eke out a meager existence. When a trio of young warriors discovers a new weapon, they see a chance to end this curse. To save humanity, they must fight.

best alien novel I've ever read
Revisado: 05-28-24
I have loved everything xenomorph since I was a young boy. I have, over the years, ingested quite a bit of alien lore. I can say with confidence this book is one of the greats. if you're going to read an alien novel, do not let the cover or the name fool you. it is an amazing piece of work. this is the one you should be reading.

Historia
Money's tight and their new home is a fixer-upper. Deep in rural South West England, with an ancient wood at the foot of the garden, Tom and his family are miles from anywhere and anyone familiar. His wife, Fiona, was never convinced that buying the money-pit at auction was a good idea. Not least because the previous owner committed suicide. Though no one can explain why.

derisive amd unspectacular
Revisado: 03-27-24
this book was hard to finish although I will say the second half definitely held my attention better than the first. it feels as though because of the fame of his earlier novel the ritual Adam was trying to write something along the same lines of folk horror but this one just seems unimaginative. there are good elements to it and I didn't enjoy certain aspects but there are a lot of better reads

In the house on Violin Road he found the bodies of his brother, his mother, and the man who killed them both-his father. From the house on Violin Road, in Missing Mile, North Carolina, Trevor McGee ran for his sanity and his soul, after his famous cartoonist father had exploded inexplicably into murder and suicide. Now Trevor is back. In the company of a New Orleans computer hacker on the run from the law, Trevor has returned to face the ghosts that still live on Violin Road, to find the demons that drove his father to murder his family-and worse, to spare one of his sons. But as Trevor begins to draw his own cartoon strip, he loses himself in a haze of lines and art and thoughts of the past, the haunting begins. Trevor and his lover plunge into a cyber-maze of cartoons, ghosts, and terror that will lead either to understanding-true understanding-or to a blood-raining repetition of the past.

more gay p0rn than horror
Revisado: 03-29-23
i don't mind some sex but geez. seems more like the author just wanterld to express his desires. zach is supposed to be pansexual but is obviously just gay, feels like his attraction to women is an afterthought.

non stop meaningless rants, directionless in its purpose and it's ending was horrible. the first book was the best but was still filled with unnecessary ranting. it feels like its trying for three books to get to a place but never does. waste of time, could barely get through it.

one of the best horror novels I have ever read
Revisado: 10-19-22

This story is unlike any told since ancient greece yet its flow and substance are beyond modern. If you haven't read it, or are unsure about reading it, dont be. read it now
