Historia
In this must-listen book for anyone striving to succeed, pioneering psychologist Angela Duckworth shows parents, educators, students, and businesspeople - both seasoned and new - that the secret to outstanding achievement is not talent but a focused persistence called "grit". Why do some people succeed and others fail? Sharing new insights from her landmark research on grit, MacArthur "genius" Angela Duckworth explains why talent is hardly a guarantor of success.

Historia
At the end of the last century, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was a booming coal-and-steel town filled with hardworking families striving for a piece of the nation's burgeoning industrial prosperity. In the mountains above Johnstown, an old earth dam had been hastily rebuilt to create a lake for an exclusive summer resort patronized by the tycoons of that same industrial prosperity, among them Andrew Carnegie, Henry Clay Frick, and Andrew Mellon.

Historia
Amazon’s business model is deceptively simple: make online shopping so easy and convenient that customers won’t think twice. It can almost be summed up by the button on every page: Buy now with one click. Why has Amazon been so successful? Much of it has to do with Jeff Bezos, the CEO and founder, whose business strategy and unique combination of character traits have driven Amazon to the top of the online retail world. Originally a computer nerd rather than a businessman, he had the vision to capitalize on the untapped online marketplace for bookselling....

Good synopsis of the Amazon & Bezos story
Revisado: 01-25-17
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to One-Click as a reminder of the growth of Amazon. The story explains how Jeff Bezos grew and as such was well positioned to make decisions which fit his character and benefitted Amazon over the long term. A solid walk down memory lane for those who have followed the company for some time and a pretty compelling synopsis for those who wish to learn the tale.

Most of us fear and dread conflict at home or at work. But conflict can be your ally, not your enemy. Conflict doesn't have to tear your family or organization apart.
