Historia
In Anti-Diet, Christy Harrison takes on diet culture and the multi-billion-pound industries that profit from it, exposing all the ways it robs people of their time, money, health and happiness. It will turn what you think you know about health and wellness upside down, as Harrison explores the history of diet culture, how it's infiltrated the health and wellness world, how to recognise it in all its sneaky forms, and how letting go of efforts to lose weight or eat 'perfectly' actually helps to improve people's health - no matter their size.

I found this book personally challenging. It requires you to address many issues that we take for granted in our day-to-day relationships with food. It represents a voice that needs to be louder in society. Accepting the message and adapting one's perspectives and prejudices will be a journey. The positive impact on my quality of life will be immeasurable.

Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

Memorable and impactful

I have now listened to this book twice. Once alone, and a second time with my partner. We reference it often, and it has given us a new appreciation for our love of coffee. It taught us how to be more mindful in how and when we consume coffee. It has also sparked an interest in sleep quality, and led me to go on to read books by some of the people Pollan interviews in Caffeine.
