Historia
Hazel Hart was a successful romance novelist until a breakup drives her straight into writer’s block. Having failed (and failed some more) to deliver her new manuscript, she’s hiding from the world behind a wall of old takeout containers until her publisher lays down the law. If she misses her next deadline it’s The End. Desperate for inspiration, Hazel impulse-buys a historic home online and flees Manhattan to tiny Story Lake, PA. Upon her dramatic arrival—involving an incident with a bald eagle—she discovers the charm of her new home may have been slightly exaggerated.

I cannot recommend this book enough. The storyline was perfect, the characters were easy to love, and the humor and family dynamics made it enjoyable the entire book. You will not want to stop listening (or reading).

Historia
In The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, Amy mines her past for stories about her teenage years, her family, relationships, and sex and shares the experiences that have shaped who she is - a woman with the courage to bare her soul to stand up for what she believes in, all while making us laugh. Down to earth and relatable, frank and unapologetic, Amy Schumer is one of us: She relies on her sister for advice, still hangs out with her high school pals, and continues to navigate the ever-changing boundaries in love, work, and life.

Don't waste your money or credit
Revisado: 01-09-17
I was really excited for this book bc I find Amy to be hilarious while doing stand up as well as performing skits for her show. I think her outlook on life is refreshing so I was eager so read her book (listen actually). However, it was a major let down. The jokes aren't funny, the story line is all over the place, and there are too many details about unimportant material. I couldn't even finish it. Seriously, don't waste your money.

Any additional comments?
This book is extremely hard to get into. Although the plot line could potentially be a hit, the chapters do not excite the reader.
The two main characters have zero personality! Although the author provides so much detail into their thoughts and feelings (way too much detail), relating to either one is impossible. The narrator only added to the flatness.

Great book, Bad performers!
Revisado: 06-03-16
I really enjoyed this storyline. It was very interesting, although the it takes a few chapters to get fully invested in the characters. A disappearing friend, a new girl to town, it is very intriguing. I really liked all the back stories that came to light throughout. It really kept things going. There were a lot of twists and turns that were very unexpected, but some scenes were dragged out with too many details.
Also, the performers just didn't capture the characters the way I would have if I read the book instead. They didn't have enough emotion. They probably are the reason I only gave the book 4 stars.

Great thriller!
Revisado: 05-16-16
This book was really interesting from the beginning to the end. I couldn't stop listening. I did, however, not fully grasp the concept that pulls the whole story line together (didn't really find it as dangerous as the book portrays), but it was still a good read. Although the characters are high school age, they were written very maturely and it was easy to relate to the main character. The details and descriptions were just enough. Not too many that you were bored, but not too little that you were left with questions. It was definitely entertaining.

Couldn't Stop Listening
Revisado: 04-06-16
I cannot express enough how amazing this book was written. I was immediately hooked and related completely with Louisa. Moyes does an incredible job of not wasting the readers time with unimportant details while painting a picture so vividly you can imagine yourself there. I was on the edge of my seat at every interaction with Will and Louisa. Do yourself a favor and read/listen to this book. You won't regret it.

Not Worth the Credit
Revisado: 03-24-16
Would you try another book from Liane Moriarty and/or Caroline Lee?
This is my third book by Liane Moriarty (first: Big Little Lies, second: What Alice Forgot). By the time I listened to this story, I felt as though the characters and scenarios basically all were replayed from the other two books. I got easily board with this book. I absolutely love Caroline Lee though. She's amazing! The only thing that kept me listening were her performance abilities.
What could Liane Moriarty have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I think adding more originality to the characters and details of their lives would have kept me interested in getting to know the characters and being more involved in the story. I also was put off by the fact that she had to keep reiterating that one of the characters (Felicity) was fat. She goes on and on about her being a fat girl, obese, and basically saying she was worth nothing until she lost weight.
What about Caroline Lee’s performance did you like?
Caroline Lee was amazing! I could listen to here read anything and be amused. She's such a great performer and she is amazing at making each character sound and act unique.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Husband's Secret?
There wasn't any particular scene I would cut, but less time could have been wasted on meaningless details (i.e. the women's train of thought while an intense scene was emerging).

A Must Read - Or Listen....
Revisado: 03-09-16
What made the experience of listening to What Alice Forgot the most enjoyable?
Once I got involved with the characters, I couldn't stop listening. The way the characters discuss their lives, strengths, weaknesses, and how exhausted/busy they have become, it really puts things into perspective. We all can get a little carried away with daily tasks and routines. This book definitely made me realize I need to slow things down and enjoy the moment.
What other book might you compare What Alice Forgot to and why?
What Alice Forgot was my second Liane Moriarty book following "Big Little Lies". Absolutely love this author and her stories keep you interested until the end. Actually, I didn't want them to end.
What does Tamara Lovatt-Smith bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Elizabeth, definitely! I would not have liked Elizabeth as much if I would have read the story instead of listening. Her complaining would have irritated me rather than allow me to understand her frustrations.
Who was the most memorable character of What Alice Forgot and why?
Old Alice... She handled her new "life" and situations perfectly.

Great Story- Full of Suspense
Revisado: 10-29-15
"In a Dark, Dark Wood" had a great storyline and was read amazingly! Although at some points there seemed to be too much detail for my taste, I was intrigued until the very end. Definitely recommend!
