Historia
Pillar of Light—the first volume in the series The Work and the Glory—begins the epic story of the Benjamin Steed family. In the 1820s they move from Vermont to Palmyra Township in upstate New York in search of better farmland. There they meet a young man named Joseph Smith and are thrown into the maelstrom of conflict and controversy that swirls around him. Did he really see the Father and the Son in a pillar of light? Has he truly been visited by angelic messengers? What is all this talk about gold plates and new scripture? In short, is he a prophet and seer or a monumental fraud?

I'm Glad Audible finally has this series!
Revisado: 12-03-24
A great series for any one looking at the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! In this first book Lund introduces the Steed family that he weaves into all the major Church events!
The editing of the Audible version isn't the best they used the CDs to make it. (The sound is great so no worries about that) But you will hear this is the end of CD X or the start of CD X a few times.
The good thing is it doesn't distract from the story.

April 2011: On a remote mountaintop overlooking the remains of the Iranian nuclear weapons program, Azad Ashani witnesses a Quds Force demonstration of a capability meant to upend America’s war in the Middle East. Ashani, director of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security and Irene Kennedy’s former back channel to the Iranian government, recognizes the demonstration’s true significance, and the nation-ending conflict it will provoke. Alone, Ashani stands no chance of preventing this rush to madness.

Great first book for Don Bentley as Mitch Rapp!
Revisado: 09-05-24
Don Bentley’s foray into the world of Mitch Rapp is fast paced and intriguing. Rapp never fails to twist the plot line and bring resolution to multiple story lines in exciting and unique ways. The introduction of new friends and old adversaries keep Rapp in continuity with his history and character.
Steve Weber isn't George Guidall but does a great job!

Historia
Mitch Rapp hates owing anyone a favor—especially when it’s the world’s most powerful crime lord. But when Damian Losa calls, Mitch is honor bound to answer. The Syrian government has created a highly addictive new narcotic that it plans to distribute throughout Europe. It’s a major threat to Losa’s business and he’s determined to stop it by any means necessary. Rapp is the perfect choice for the mission. Not only does he have extensive experience operating in the Middle East, but he’s also entirely expendable.

Rapp Pays back an IOU and it all goes FUBAR
Revisado: 09-12-23
CIA counterterrorism operative Mitch Rapp has a man that he gave an IOU too call it in. That man is Mexican billionaire Damian Losa is one of the biggest and powerful criminals in the world. He wants him to go into Syria and look into a new drug they are distributing. It's costing him tons of money and he wants who is really behind it and make a deal where they can both make money.
But Rapp finds out that it isn't the Syrian government that is really behind the drugs. It's the Russians and they want to perfect it and ship it to America. With it being addictive and people doing anything to get the next hit, the drug is said to cause irreversible brain damage and killing large numbers! Russia wants to import it to the west and take America out! Can Rapp find the ones calling the shots and stop it at the same watching his back because he knows he can't trust Losa?
A great book to end the Era of Kyle Mills writing the Mitch Rapp books! I look forward to see where author Don Bentley takes The best Protagonist in books next!
I want to thank Vince Flynn's family, Kyle, Atria books, Simon & Schuster, Emily Bestler Books and soon to be Don for Keeping Mitch Rapp in the fight!

Historia
With President Anthony Cook convinced that Mitch Rapp poses a mortal threat to him, CIA Director Irene Kennedy is forced to construct a truce between the two men. The terms are simple: Rapp agrees to leave the country and stay in plain sight for as long as Cook controls the White House. In exchange, the administration agrees not to make any moves against him. This fragile détente holds until Cook’s power-hungry security adviser convinces him that Rapp has no intention of honoring their agreement. To put him on the defensive, they leak the identity of his partner, Claudia Gould.

Rapp is determined to eliminate this shadowy figure, but the CIA’s trap fails. US goes dark, it’s up to Rapp to get them back on!
Revisado: 09-15-20
America’s power grid is vulnerable, congress knows it but they are congress all hearings and no action! Congress hires an expert John Alton to look into the vulnerability of our power grid. What he finds is just how easy it would be to take the power grid down. Plus if the power is off for a year or more it would send America back to the stone age and kill 90% or more of America’s population!
Tired of congress not doing anything, John decides to show them just how easy it is to turn out the lights. He offers the info to the Russians they send in a long time sleeper agent Sonya Vance to confirm the information. The Kremlin decides the plan is too risky and the possibility of relation too high. So John turns to ISIS knowing they would do anything to destroy America!
Rapp, Coleman, and Kennedy are planning their next move when they are plunged into the dark.
As Americans are trying to find away to survive, Rapp is on the hunt to find John Alton the man that turned off the light to get him to turn them back on!
This book will have you thinking twice the next time the power goes out especially in today’s world! Some of Kyle Mills books have come close to telling the future let’s hope and pray this one stays on the pages of this book!

Historia
A toxic presidential election is underway in an America already badly weakened by internal divisions. While politicians focus entirely on maintaining their own power, ISIS kidnaps a brilliant French microbiologist and forces him to begin manufacturing anthrax. Slickly produced videos chronicling his progress and threatening an imminent attack are posted to the internet, intensifying the hysteria gripping the United States.

Rapp Must stop a Bioweapon attack!
Revisado: 09-24-19
This has the feeling of my favorite Vince Flynn’s #MitchRapp Memorial Day.
Rapp must stop a guy that he thought he had killed a while back (Enemy of the State: Mullah Sayid Halabi ). from hitting America with a bioweapon attack!
Rapp asks for and finally gets the golden ticket! He finds out the attack will be worse than anyone ever thought of! At the same time finds out the attack isn't what they thought it was. Mullah is working with the Mexican drug cartel to get it into America.
Rapp must risk everything to find a way to stop it and not get infected. While working in an area where he doesn’t know the language, the players or the climate.
If all this wasn't bad enough Rapp must deal with the politics. Even worse it's the politics of a presidential election with a senator that hates the CIA being the most likely to be the next POTUS!

I started with this one.
Revisado: 05-21-19
I started with this book I knew it was a part of a series but I started here anyway. After I read it I didn't feel like I missed any part of the story. I have now gone back and bought and listened to all of them.
You can start anywhere in this series and not feel you missed out on something. Of course listening to them in order you see the development of each character. Rick has no real "hero" in this series it is based around the Sub, POUTS, NSA and a Seal Team. Which gives this series a different feel/read to it from all other thriller!

Red War is a new look for Rapp
Revisado: 09-25-18
While Rapp is paying back Grisha Azarov, Russian president Krupin’s former enforcer and one of the very few men that have gone toe-to-toe with Rapp and lived to tell the tell. CIA Director Irene Kennedy hears that Krupin has brought out of forced retirement general Sokolov making him his top aide and advisor. This gives a head fake to the world's Intel agencies making them at first thinking he is there to help with the pressure from the public protests.
Krupin makes moves to invade NATO countries at the same time daring the Americans to get involved. Kennedy learns of Krupin’s inoperable brain cancer, she realizes that they are in a no-win situation that could lead to nuclear war.
This is Rapp most dangerous mission to date can he stop Krupin before he and Sokolo can start world war three? With a lot of action from the start that keeps going all the way through and great storyline this is a five star book!

Any additional comments?
When President Alexander finds his hands tied after he gets Intel that says a Saudi royal family member is giving a large amount of money to ISIS. He calls on the one man that he knows that will get to the bottom of it no matter where the Intel takes him Mitch Rapp.
ISIS is planning to attack America using the money they are getting from the Saudi family member. Aali Nassar head of the General Intelligence Directorate is trying to make a deal with ISIS right under the nose of ailing King Faisal.
Nassar is planning on taking over when King Faisal finally dies. In the mean time he is keeping the king in the dark about what is really going on & his plans to take over.
Those plans start to unravel when Kennedy starts to follow the money trail that is leading back to Nassar. The President is pissed and has had enough with the Saudi’s helping ISIS!
Just as Rapp starting to settle in to his new home and deciding on a life with Claudia and Anna plus some new neighbors that he will never need to worry about. He gets a call in the middle of the night from the President. He asks Rapp to come to the white house where much like their first meeting (back in 2007’s Protect and Defend) he tells Rapp his plan to deal with terrorist is to “blitz hard and blitz often” he lays out his plan to deal with the Saudi and ISIS.
The next day Rapp does the unthinkable and retires from the CIA and cuts all ties to them Kennedy and Mike Nash. To find out the truth about the Saudi, ISIS ties and what they are planning. But he needs a team and he can’t use his go to team of Scott Coleman and his guys because of their ties to the CIA & Government.
Rapp assembles his team made up entirely of characters that long time fans of the series have loved and hated. As with everything in life Murphy’s Law gets to have it’s say. Rapp finds himself wanted internationally after a situation involving one of King Faisal’s nephew’s makes headlines news around the world.
How does this end does Rapp find the truth and clear his name before the world’s governments including his own that sent him, find him? Hold on tight this has multiple surprises and well-timed twists that makes this a heart stopping thrill ride. This is a must for any Rapp fan and soon to be fans!
Kyle Mills has done a great job at keeping the qualities of all the characters that fans have come to know and love. As he is takes Rapp to a new level he is slowly bringing in his own style without losing the spirit of Vince Flynn!
While Memorial Day will always be my Favorite Vince Flynn Mitch Rapp book Enemy of State is my Favorite Rapp book so far.
Great news is that Kyle has signed up to do three more books can’t wait to see where he take Rapp next?
