Like the framework that nearly anything can be a practice. Definitely worth a listen, especially if unfamiliar with Zen.

Historia
The mass incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II is not only a tale of injustice; it is a moving story of faith. In this pathbreaking account, Duncan Ryuken Williams reveals how, even as they were stripped of their homes and imprisoned in camps, Japanese American Buddhists launched one of the most inspiring defenses of religious freedom in our nation's history, insisting that they could be both Buddhist and American.

Excellent blend of Buddhism practice and psychology / science
Revisado: 09-08-23
Loved the side by side comparison of Buddhist ideas and modern science. The title is misleading (which author freely admits). He doesn’t argue for supernatural ideas in Buddhism, but focuses on the ideas regarding the mind and practice.
Highly recommended.

I’ve been following Peter’s podcast for years. I value his well-informed opinions. This book is a wonderful elaboration on many topics he has discussed on the pod. I learned very much. I’m especially glad he read it, and that he included the final chapter on emotional wellness.

Liked the systematic, structured approach. I bought both audio and print version so I can more easily study and plan, using printed copy as a reference.
