Historia
A simple night on the town with Angie Mandarich is all Hal Bailey wants. Dinner and a movie. Hitchcock followed by the Forest City. A classy night with a classy lady. Hal doesn't know he's about to meet the nuttiest collection of con men, swindlers, safecrackers and hustlers this side of the Cuyahoga River. Their screwball plans make this a New Years for Hal to remember. Fans of Westlake, Leonard, and George V. Higgins will enjoy the pace and tone of this book's pitch-perfect dialogue. Cool, funny, sympathetic and gritty. A zany taste of Cleveland in the 80s.

A fun and fast-paced story in a nostalgic setting
Revisado: 04-03-25
Trevor Holliday has a knack for creating settings that transport the reader to another time. Each descriptive detail, from the music on the radio to the movie on the marquee to the car parked on the corner, amplifies the feeling that you are watching events unfold around you. Add that to a glimpse of the criminal underworld and some characters you can really root for, and you have the recipe for a good read!
