Historia
Logen Ninefingers, infamous barbarian, has finally run out of luck. Caught in one feud too many, he's on the verge of becoming a dead barbarian - leaving nothing behind him but bad songs, dead friends, and a lot of happy enemies. Nobleman, dashing officer, and paragon of selfishness, Captain Jezal dan Luthar has nothing more dangerous in mind than fleecing his friends at cards and dreaming of glory in the fencing circle. But war is brewing, and on the battlefields of the frozen North they fight by altogether bloodier rules.

Such a good story!

I really appreciate how well the story unfolds and I highly recommend listening to the series outside of order but within the trilogies.

Overall, good story
Revisado: 02-19-25
First of all, the music was terrible. But thankfully, the writing in the narrating were able to make up for it. I am very against having to hear that all over again in another one of his books.
I really liked all of Joe Abercrombie stories. And the more you hear them and the more you relisten to several of them the more certain parts of these books seem to make sense. It’s like Easter eggs for those who are familiar with Joe Crombie’s work.
I do have a habit of getting choked up at certain points with all these stories and it’s very fascinating to see what happens to certain characters that you’ve heard of or seen of in other stories.

I am sorry.
Revisado: 12-09-24
I am sorry about your daughter. I sincerely cannot imagine. Really. My mind cannot perceive the pain.
Did the boom skip? I felt like they were talking and then ended up in battle. I admittingly drink a bit and got very confused. Talking-final battle.
Anyway, good title overall. Names got confusing and had some hard time keeping track cause narrator was sorta bland throughout three books. Seemed to forget a bloodsworns voice for a bit…
Lore is great. Good ending and didn’t expect certain people to die. Good surprise.
But for next book i recommend another author. :)

Historia
The Aftermath of a stunning victory—especially an unexpected, complete, and final victory—should be high-fives all around, listening to politicians give boring congratulatory speeches, and a well-deserved rest for the Merry Band of Pirates. Yes, the galaxy is still a freakin' mess, but that is nothing new, and for a change, that can be someone else's problem. Until, you know, something really bad happens, and only the Pirates can deal with the problem... Or not.

Good consistency
Revisado: 12-30-23
I like the books a lot. I will listen to them sometimes two or three times. I appreciate the consistency throughout the entire storyline. The humor is also sporadic and good. Both a story and the narration are excellent!

Because after the dark age will come a new age: of light, of victory, of hope.

Not sure what is better, the writing or the narration. Some of the funny bits are abrupt and I find myself laughing out loud.

It is how game of thrones should have been
Revisado: 12-09-22
Read the Martin books, but was constantly lacking. Everything seemingly revolving around sex. This however, actually has a good plot and continuity. Highly recommend if you like fantasy and Norse mythology put together in a very vibrant, but yet still brutal story.

Love these!
Revisado: 04-01-22
I really enjoy this genre. However the title does not make sense and does not correlate to the story. The storyline also plays out kind of like a video game. But with that aside it is a good story and fun to follow and it is fun to learn what happened to Ellen’s daughter.

Thought it would be better.
Revisado: 03-29-22
It is like Twilight in the sense they try to humanize the vampires to people. Everything is predicable from that point.
The catalyst that pushes the story along does not make sense. Would give specific example but that would spoils the story for anyone who still wants to hear story.
All the narrators do a fantastic job. And the person who managed the sound effect and background noise did excellent, but the musically interludes seem superfluous and not necessary.
