Historia
After the massive battle to save today's Earth went horribly wrong, leaving a huge fleet of ghost ships hanging over the planet, humanity is left to fight for itself. Can we use our genetic link to the fleet's fallen commanders to rein in the ships before they start crashing down onto an already battered world? And when dark galactic forces once again amass in our skies, can humanity make a stand?

I always love this narrator! And this book did not disappoint. I also have to say that it was hard to put this book down. I love the characters, the storyline, and just everything about the book! I’d recommend it to anyone who loves to listen to sci-fi, Especially if you like space!

Historia
"Are you one of us?" a patient once asked Marsha Linehan, the world-renowned psychologist who developed dialectical behavior therapy. "Because if you were, it would give all of us so much hope." Over the years, DBT had saved the lives of countless people fighting depression and suicidal thoughts, but Linehan had never revealed that her pioneering work was inspired by her own desperate struggles as a young woman. Only when she received this question did she finally decide to tell her story.

The DBT book I’ve always wanted to read!
Revisado: 02-12-20
About 10 years ago, during a particularly dark time in my life, I was a DBT participant. I found DBT to be a life-saving and life-building experience. I have always wondered about the story behind DBT and the therapist who created it. I really enjoyed this story, it integrated both Marsha's story and so many of the skills that I found useful over the years. It was very cool to hear her story, and to see ways in which she uses the skills.
If you've ever wanted to meet Marsha and talk to her, this is probably the next best thing. It's a hope-filled and empathetic story.
The narration is excellent, making it feel like you're sitting across the table from her, sharing a cup of coffee and conversation.
I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. If you have family or friends who suffer from any kind of mental health challenge, this book will help you understand what they might be feeling. if you went through DBT in the past, this book will help you through any dark times you may be experiencing. It's no substitute for therapy, but a caring voice to listen to.

Historia
Confessions of a Guide Dog is Uska's version of events, during that extraordinary first year. His "lick-n-tell" memoires are as loyal and loving as a Labrador could make them, but they do come from a dog, and dogs don't lie. Expect some home truths about the human race, blind living, and dog loving, all told with a humor that reflects the effect he has on people around him. This should spread to everyone who reads them. Despite our teething problems, we made it, largely thanks to the training efforts of the team at Guide Dogs.

As a Guide Dog handler, I can say that this book tells the story of what it's really like to live with and love a Guide Dog. I love how this authorportrays the love and selfless devotion these awesome dogs have for us! I'd recommend it to anyone who loves dogs or wonders about the relationship we share with our Guide Dogs!

Talk about a cliff hanger
Revisado: 05-16-16
Iris Johansen did a brilliant job portraying the characters' relationships in this story. Blended with her usual skillful suspense. I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves the Eve Duncan books. I think this was one of her better books in this series!
And as usual, Elizabeth Rogers narrated this book very well!

Historia
Stone the builder who erects a house that falls on its occupants. Sever the hands of the criminal who pilfers livestock or grain or another's garment. Whip the child who defies an elder. For such is the law and the law must be obeyed. For generations, these ironclad rules had governed the people. Nobody ques-tioned whether it was right to humiliate a child or execute a murderer. An eye for an eye was the way of the world. But was there another way?

Historia
Caitlin Decter is young, pretty, feisty, a genius at math - and blind. Still, she can surf the net with the best of them, following its complex paths clearly in her mind. But Caitlin's brain long ago co-opted her primary visual cortex to help her navigate online. So when she receives an implant to restore her sight, instead of seeing reality, the landscape of the World Wide Web explodes into her consciousness, spreading out all around her in a riot of colors and shapes.

A Tightly Woven Plot
Revisado: 08-07-09
This book engaged me in ways I have never been engaged in any science fiction type book. Part of this is that I, as a blind person, related on a deep level to Caitlin, the main character. That said, beyond the plot, which managed to be interessting, humorous and awe-inspiring, I found that the narrators did a superb job. I have never enjoyed multiple narrator audiobooks that I can recall, but this book and the lovely narrators were wonderful! I highly recommend the book and can't wait to see the next book!A
