Historia
Bringing with him the practical experience that comes from having owned a high-end gun store—catering largely to law enforcement—and as a competitive shooter and self-defense trainer, Correia blasts apart the emotion-laden, logic-free rhetoric of the gun-control fanatics who turn every "mass shooting" into a crazed call for violating your rights, abusing the Constitution—and doing absolutely nothing to really fight crime.

Larry Correia does it again!
Revisado: 01-25-23
As a long time fan of Larry Correia, I was looking forward to seeing what he could do with a full book on the topic of the Second Amendment (2A), given how entertaining his posts on the subject frequently are.
In Defense of the Second Amendment did NOT disappoint!
Unlike most writers on the topic, Larry has 'hands on' experience in several 2A related industries, from competition shooter, through 'machine gun dealer' to military contractor, to instructor, and even expert witness in both court and his state legislature.
He KNOWS the subject.
He also knows the world around us all and is able to practically and quite entertainingly combine those two knowledges to provide one of the best overviews of why the Second Amendment is more important now than ever.
I was unfamiliar with John Mclain as a reader before this book. His start is acceptable, but he fairly quickly falls into the comfortable 'flow' of Larry's writing and even does a reasonable job of delivering the ILoH's frequent snark. Overall, John does an excellent job in presenting the material for the listening audience.

An excellent addition to the Monster Hunter 'verse
Revisado: 08-14-19
For everyone who wanted to know what happened while Owen was away during MH: Siege, this is it.
Larry brought in Sarah A Hoyt to better present the 'voice' of Julie Shackleford. Sarah did a great job of presenting that voice.
For the audio version, they brought back Bailey Carr, who had previously voiced Sara's Julie story in Monster Hunter files, A Hunter Born. Bailey did a great job there, and did an even better one here.
Yes, there are a few pronunciation issues that could, perhaps should have been avoided, but her pace and flow are a good match for this presentation of the character. She's not Oliver, but this isn't Owen.
Over all, another great addition and another generation of Monster Hunters.

Light, fast paced fun
Revisado: 10-17-16
This was my introduction to Elliott Kay's writing. His other two series looked like fun, but I wasn't sure how good they would be. Then I noticed this novella, and I figured that it would make a good starting point.
I've read/listened to very few good 'player is sucked into a game world' stories, and equally few new additions to old school sword and sorcery stories. This one takes a swing at doing both at once, and knocks it out of the park.
This was also the first time listening to something read by Tess Irondale. She's impressed me, and has the perfect voice for Mr. Kay's work.

Historia
All it takes is a single brush with the supernatural to change a life forever. Some choose the path of magic and shadow willingly. Others never see the hand of magic as it shapes their fortunes. They face the extraordinary with nothing but courage and wits to guide them. Some mortals become trapped in the conflict between angels and demons and find themselves forever changed. For all too many, the shadows lead only to untimely ends.

Nice additions to the world
Revisado: 10-17-16
This is a nice collection of short stories, featuring among other things, more background on Molly and Onyx, a story with Molly's cop uncle, and a couple of really good reasons to avoid the VIP lounge...
The performance is good, but the reader accidentally swapped the voices of Molly and Onyx, which makes the first story particularly jarring. The rest are as good as the other books in the series she's read,
