Read it even if the title and desc are dumb

I'm one of those who was recommended this series over and over again but never read it because the title and description just sound dumb. Finally read them all and am a Bob convert. Thoroughly enjoyed them all and am waiting for more!

great story, distracting narration

I don't know why producers choose to switch narrators for the same character voices. It is so distracting. Choosing just one good narrator would be so much better. The story is really good though. I recommend it.

Beautiful and thoughtful

In the beginning I enjoyed this book for the way she brought the gods to life; better in the telling and creativity than others I have read. As the story progressed, I found myself pulled in by the emotions. I did not enjoy her other book, the Song of Achilles, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

just gets better

Each time I read a Michael Sullivan book I like him more and more. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I think the stories are fantastic and the characters are incredibly well painted. I often laugh out loud when I hear their dialogue.

Excellent!

I loved the Riyria revelations and was looking forward to this but didn't expect more than to visit old friends. I was pleasantly surprised that the adventure was just as enjoyable. I'm amazed by the creativity that Michael Sullivan has to be able to weave all these complex details into the spaces of the future (this being a prequel). He's definitely moved up on my list of favorite authors.

Good character development and storytelling

There are many elements of this story that are standard fantasy fare but they are used in a unique enough way that the story is still entertaining and suspenseful. The characters are also well developed and engaging. I've been looking for a new series that is layered yet not overly dark and this one fits the bill. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

One of the best series I've read

I grew up on fantasy and on martial arts films. This series is the perfect blend of them and the narrator is superb. Can't wait for more!

entertaining and unique

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and The Rook. The narrator for The Rook was, in turns, extraordinary and deeply annoying and distracting (she had a very strange cadence but was fantastic at accents). This narrator was extraordinary and not at all annoying. I do think The Rook was a better story and less predictable than Stilleto but both are definitely worth the read. Looking forward to the next installment.
