I've been a member of Audible for years and yet I've rarely written reviews. I'm also ashamed to admit if I've taken the time to do so it's been because I thought the book dreadful. This book though, best narration ever! I was totally immersed from the start. Great story, brilliantly written. 10 out of 10.

Perhaps it is only me, but reviews make me nervous. It isn't only that we are all individuals, it's that we have literary moods. Mine run from historical fiction through history on to brain candy horror. If I read a book I'm not in the mood to listen to I always hate it, until I turn back to it in the right mood, then I love it. So if your mood is for a long, well researched, rendition of how green was my valley, you'll love this. Add warm fire, and a comfy chair for added bliss.

I expected something very different, but got a heavily romanticised tale of a perfect man, perfect lover, perfect Knight, which was too hard for me to believe in but if romance is your want, I can recommend it within that constraint.

Love this book!

I can't recommend this book highly enough. Beautifully drawn characters in a believable, yet tense story in a place that is described so fully that you're fully immersed and actually there. Topped of with a narration by Simon Vance, who is, as always, perfect.
