I grew up and still live in the south. Yes, bigotry is real and this book is fiction BUT it was way overdone and not true to life.

I don't like skin flix and this was not. After this book i've done two more Klune books and he is great. How to be a Normal Person and now 1/2 way through the "River" book. It's so nice to not have "skin" as the main subject.
