My favorite books from Mr Asher. My only complaint is for the publisher and audiobook rights. There is no The Human audiobook for American audiences. It was released for Europe but never got an American release. This is really disappointing and a missed opportunity for Neal and his fans.

It was worth it all in the end. Great ending to an awesome series. I hope to hear more from Craig and RC.

This is not a review of the book in as it would be if I had not read many of the scathing reviews. This is a admonishment of those reviews. Most of the reviews make some valid points left moot by the outstanding job of R.C. Bray and the Audible version I enjoyed. Many stated that the book seemed to be rushed or glossed over by the author. Instead, I contest, that the plot of this book was labored over more so, than the previous two. Those reviews scream of petulant little children that did not get their way. We read these stories to transport us to worlds we can only dream of and forget that reality is bitter, so easily forgettable in its coldness. Moss does a great job of actually predicting how we as a species really would react. We are selfish, boring, cold creatures that serve to only bolster our own ends, but we are capable of great things. This isn't the great utopia of Star Trek and it will never be. We humans cannot collectively function as one, even if to defend ourselves, without cost. We are individuals that must overcome inane selfishness in order to cooperate at any given level. Moss does a great job of showing our greatness, as a species, as well as our complete and consuming ability to commit evil, even in the purpose of good. We will always pay the price, but to what end?
