Fun story

Should have got a refund.

While it's far from the worst story I've listened to I do wish I had sent it back for a refund when I had the chance but I decided to try listening all the way through in hopes it would improve. My first complaint is about the male voice actors as they all seem to sound like really bad actors from an indie movie. They speak as if everything is a huge surprise or very dramatic moment causing most of the story to feel like they are all some kind of cheesy villian from a children cartoon. It's also didn't help that the main character often sounded like he was whining about something even when it didn't make sense. With the exception of the combat scenes the main character definitely doesn't feel like a combat veteran or a cop. The female voice actor on the other hand did a wonderful job with her parts and where the main reason I hoped the rest of the voice acting would improve as the book went on. As for the story my main complaint is how all the female characters seem to be completely submissive to the men even though they have lived in a female dominated society and have been raised for leadership. While at one point it's implied this is something forced by the Demi Gods it feels more like the other just can't be bothered to write a strong confident female.

amazing narration

Absolutely loved the narrators they did an amazing job. Sadly the story was nothing new and the female characters attitudes quickly became tedious but I've read worse.

Another good idea ruined

It sounded like a great story but it's quickly ruined by b stupid characters that only survive because of "plot armor". over all it wasn't bad but also not good enough to continue the series.

Interesting but frustrating

The reader did amazing. The story idea is good and the writing is well done. Unfortunately, I hate stupid characters that seem to be stupid just for "Plot" reasons and that is the only real failing of this story. You have people that are all in their own way extra ordinary several of them being the kind of people that by reputation should be among the best in their field but still seem to do a lot of seriously stupid things during the story. Overall still worth the read and I'm really hoping the second book will do a better job.

Bad sound effects ruin the story

The story has some potential but honestly could have been better thought out as there are a number of things that don't make sense for the setting or some of the characters. The largest problem however is the narrator. First of all the sound effects he insists on using just completely ruin the flow and pacing of the battle scenes. That's bad enough but considering how bad those sound effects are it only makes it worse. Honestly I'd probably be willing to over look the other problems if they just recorded a version with a new narrator but until then I can't even convince myself to try finishing the story.

MC doesn't learn

Had some good parts but kinda hate the MC just seems to be a moron that get's by because "plot" and doesn't learn from his mistakes and try to improve himself at all. Probably won't bother with the second book.

Best ending ever!

This is by far my new favorite ending to an story yet! I'm always afraid when a story come to an end because it can be so easy to mess it up but this is by far the most satisfying conclusion I have ever seen.

Might be the end for me

I absolutely loved the first book in the series. Unfortunately since then it has gone down hill sharply ever since and sadly I think this book might be the bail in the coffin for me.
