Very confusing story line. I had to backtrack several times to listen again. Not my favorite book. Also the main character talked too fast.

I loved this book!! I felt it was very well written. The readers did a great job! I actually could understand the accents too!! I heard about hospitals where husbands could commit women. Just a terrible thing! That almost happened to someone in my family!
I really liked the back and forth of the story from the past to the present, the 2 women and their perils. I cried at the end when the connection of the grandmother to the daughters were revealed. Just a wonderful story!

Not my favorite story or subject. Also too much screaming at each other. Also read not all of this story was true, lots of it was made up. Disappointing.

I really liked the voices of the characters. The reading of the book was amazing. I was in high school and college during the war and at KSU during some of the protests. Wow! This book was something else. Very well written and performed. I could never do what Frankie did in the war. Fantastic book!

WOW! What a book! I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t stop listening.
Had to get to the end! Retta was a little hard to understand but I eventually understood her. Every family has its secrets and eventually they all come out at the end. I enjoyed listening to this book.

A very interesting book! I couldn’t stop talking about it to friends and family.
I would have liked more, like did the boxes continue to come or did they stop. And did they figure out where the boxes came from and why. How the author came up with the idea of the book amazes me. The different people in the book, how they met and how their lives changed with each other was very interesting. The end of the book was sad as all deaths are but it was a satisfying end. I recommend this book.
