Historia
As kids, Amelia and Kylee were found unharmed in their upstairs bedroom the night their teenage cousin Grace, who was babysitting them, vanished from the farmhouse in Beaumont, Missouri, leaving blood all over the kitchen. Scrappy and driven, Grace, the first in their family to go to college instead of getting married and working at the meatpacking plant, had been on the verge of escaping their dead-end town. Her disappearance is a warning to any local girl who dared hope for better.

The synopsis is misleading

The ending was bad and am I supposed to believe this is a continuing saga?

Historia
Nan Lewis - a creative writing professor at a state university in upstate New York - is driving home from a faculty holiday party after finding out she's been denied tenure. On her way, she hits a deer, but when she gets out of her car to look for it, the deer is nowhere to be found. Eager to get home and out of the oncoming snowstorm, Nan is forced to leave her car at the bottom of her snowy driveway to wait out the longest night of the year - and the lowest point of her life....

Narrator was HORRIBLE
Revisado: 06-01-17
What didn’t you like about Madeleine Maby’s performance?
Madeleine Maby had a really bizarre cadence in her when reading, pausing in awkward places and giving the main character seem rather stupid - which was an issue considering she was supposed to be a college professor. She also pronounced Roisin as Roy-zan instead of Ro-sheen and that was jarring. I usually enjoy this author, having read many of her previous books - that is the only reason I continued on to the end.
