Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Awesome sequel with a few things I didn’t like
Revisado: 04-15-24
I LOVED the combat scenes, the romance between Aria and Raiden is really good and feels very organic. The storyline is also really good. It has SO much potential and is developing very nicely. Nothing felt rushed and all the plot elements are coming together well.
My only gripe is there is WAY too much drama. It just drags on and on sometimes. The first book did drama really well. It was there, and it was never overbearing to me. There were personal conflicts, but nothing out of the ordinary. This book overdid it in places. I found myself just wishing that the book would just get on with it sometimes which never happened with book 1. I’m still loving this story and looking forward to book 3 but I really hope the author tones down the drama.

Best hidden gem I’ve ever stumbled onto
Revisado: 01-24-24
This book is excellent. Just all around awesome. There is intrigue, plot twists, superpowers, detective work, you name it, this book has some of it. I’m SO glad I found this series and I can’t wait for the next book!

Historia
Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior. They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.

Awesome story, mediocre narration
Revisado: 01-21-22
The story is excellent. Anyone reading the books will LOVE this series. However, the narrator is far to monotone. None of the characters have different or distinct voices. Listening to the audio book, I just couldn't get invested in the characters because they all sound the same. If Nick Podehl was reading this, it would be a true masterpiece. The story was thankfully good enough to keep my listening because this series really is fantastic.
