Historia
The city of the gods. Elantris once stood as the symbol of all that is beautiful. A sprawling metropolis of unrivaled grandeur, it was a symbol of power and strength, built to be as imposing as it was magnificent. The only thing more glorious than the city itself was its inhabitants, Godlike beings, with silvery skin and hair of the purest, flowing white. Able to create powerful magics with a mere wave of their hands, the Elantrians were able to heal mortal wounds and create any object they desired. To be an Elantrian was to be without sickness, without pain and without want.

Great production, only one issue
Revisado: 08-09-23
I was surprised by how much I liked this format. I've never listened to a GraphicAudio production before and assumed going in that I wouldn't like it as much as regular audiobooks. Other than a few times when the music or background noise (especially the sword fights) was loud enough to overpower the voices, I feel like this was a great way to experience this story. You can really tell that the whole team was committed to getting the name pronunciations correct, which for a book with such unintuitive pronunciations was really impressive and super appreciated. The presence of near-constant music did mean I had to listen on a much slower speed than I prefer, but that wasn't a dealbreaker.
The most frustrating thing, really, is that the credits are worthless. They just read a list of the people in the cast, without saying which character each of them played. The actors for Sarene and Hrathen are especially good, and I really wanted to check who they were but I haven't been able to find a list anywhere, even on GraphicAudio's site.

Excellent book, terrible production
Revisado: 07-05-22
The audiobook is riddled with bad cuts, sometimes breaking off chapters in mid-sentence, repeating a sentence with a different tale, or in the worst case literally repeating an entire chapter. Other than that, the book and narrator are fantastic but I’d say buy the print copy. Idk how this audiobook made it to sale

Historia
Dellaria Wells, petty con artist, occasional thief, and partly educated fire witch, is behind on her rent - again. Then she sees a “wanted” sign seeking Female Persons, of Martial or Magical ability, to guard a Lady of some Importance. Delly fast-talks her way into the job and joins a team of highly peculiar women tasked with protecting their wealthy charge from unknown assassins. Delly quickly sets her sights on one of her companions, the confident and well-bred Winn Cynallum. The job looks like nothing but romance and easy money until things take a deadly (and undead) turn.

Delightful writing, excellent story
Revisado: 06-24-22
A prime example of characterization through narrative voice. I actually laughed out loud once or twice a chapter just at the phrasing choices of the narration. It perfectly represented the absolute chaotic disaster that is the main character, and I loved every moment of it. The story is also really quite good, and pretty well defied my expectations.
If the weird, prosaic writing is throwing you off, just give it a chance to grow on you. It's worth it.

Historia
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move. Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals.

Challenging subjects, masterfully handled
Revisado: 01-05-21
This book has the most realistic and respectful depiction of mental illness I've ever read, without sacrificing the quality fantasy the previous books established. The seeds he's been planting for Shallan and Kaladin are finally paid off here. Navani gets to take center stage, a refreshing change to previous books where her point of view was mostly only used when Dalinar's couldn't be, and her chapters are some of my favorite of the series. The new character Raboniel was a hit with myself and my friends, though I'll let the details of why remain in the book. For the cosmere fans, this book doesn't really introduce many new connections but does elaborate on those already established, making this probably the most connected book yet. Michael Kramer and Kate Reading continue killing it with the narration, I love Kramer's voice for Syl, and Reading's Pattern voice is just perfect. Overall I'd say this book is a worthy continuation to an excellent series.
