Any additional comments?
When Michael Connelly comes out with a new book, especially a Bosch novel, I drop whatever I'm listening to and grab it up. Oh, the hardship of trying to get through the first half of this book. The narrator was so monotone, I had to replay many of the sentences over because I would just lose interest and be daydreaming. Eventually I got used to his voice enough to get involved with the story. It was a struggle.

Brilliant! 21 hours flew by in a second! Hints of The Shining came to mind; the old Stephen King novels that left you hungry for more. John Slattery's narration rivaled my favorite, Scott Brick. The way he would pronounce Reba saying "you nasty man" was just the best! I would laugh every time and sometimes replay it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the small town characters and humor. The narrator brought the whole story to life. This is a book I'll definitely listen to again. The courtroom/murder suspense was a sideline to the main plot which to me was life in Mississippi in the 70's. So sad for it to end :(

I just discovered Michael Connelly. OK, I've been under a rock! His audio books I eat up like candy. There's never a dull moment and the setting in L.A. is so real. What a great writer!
