1960s Techno-Thriller
Revisado: 09-12-24
The Andromeda Strain is a fascinating techno-thriller of a science fiction novel by Michael Crichton that was released on May 12, 1969. Dr. Crichton brings hard science into his science fiction, but unlike Andy Weir with the more recent novels The Martian, Artemis, and Project Hail Mary, he doesn’t dumb it down. At times the technical jargon goes a little over my head as I’m not well versed in some of the fields that are used. Overall, I’d give the story a 3.5/5. What’s holding it back is just like Sphere, which Dr. Crichton published in 1987, is that it’s a very dry writing style. If you can get over the dryness of the prose, I think you’ll enjoy reading this novel.

Historia
Benedict Sorellin-Lancaster hasn't even broken in his lieutenant's insignia when he's summoned to meet with the Spirearch of Spire Albion himself for a very special—and very secret—purpose. The Spirearch needs Benedict to retrieve a bag he's "misplaced" on the Colony Spire known as Dependence, which has strangely cut off all contact with the outside world. It's a delicate mission at best, a potential bloodbath at worst. To this end, the Spirearch has supplied Benedict with backup in the form of three Warriorborn.

Amazing Story
Revisado: 09-20-23
This is an amazing story set in the world of the Cinder Spires series. It serves as a great lead into the upcoming second full novelz Theb Olympian Affair. If you've read the first novel, The Aeronaut's Windlass, then its a great way to br reintroduced to the world. If not then it's a great introduction to the world of the series.

Audio quality
Revisado: 05-23-23
The story is wonderful and the narrator excellent. The quality of the audio is what drags the overall rating down for me.

Historia
Young nobleman d’Artagnan has arrived in Paris intent on joining the guardians of King Louis XIII. He befriends the regiment’s most formidable musketeers, Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, and together they unite in their commitment to uphold justice. Soon, a royal indiscretion thrusts them into an audacious escapade of courtly intrigue, thwarted romance, and daring rescue. But it’s the Machiavellian schemes of a powerful enemy and the wicked seductions of an ingenious female spy that will be their greatest challenges.

Beware the narration
Revisado: 05-10-23
Either the gentleman who they got to do the narration is bad or his direction was. I love the story so persevered, but the narration kept knocking me out of the flow of the story.
