Loved this book!! I Will be honest, as a left of centre voter I was given a reality check that no one political demographic has cornered the market on empathy for animal issues.
I owe Mr. Scully a debt of gratitude for a book that so meticulously lays out all the ways we abuse and subjugate animals and also reminds me to not assume anything about someone because of their political or social affiliation.
Also, as a Christian I think this book is a reminder of how much we Christians have become indifferent and cruel abusers of our fellow creatures. We are supposed to serve like Jesus.
FYI going vegan is a lot easier now than it was years ago believe me!
We can help humans and animals as Mr Scully taught us in his book. The causes for both are not mutually exclusive.
Also really liked the narrator.

Compassionate and Challenging

An inspiring book about forgiveness and compassion under incredibly tragic and horrific circumstances.
I hope I can learn from this moving relationship and others will too.
I definitely am even more cemented in my opposition to the death penalty and I pray that this book is a catalyst towards others perhaps looking at it with Mr Welch’s compassionate eyes as a grieving father.
I love this but book. Reading it was a privilege.

A really great Miss Marple mystery with amazing narration! I love how atmospheric it is. You really can get absorbed in the English countryside of Miss Maple and how life was lived in her eyes. The narrator was wonderful!!

This was a lovely mix of Christmas stories! A variety of authors with different styles made it interesting. I was always enjoy the stories and excited to find out what the next one would be. My favourites were from Tolstoy, O. Henry and of course Dickens!
I truly enjoyed the whole book!

The gift of hearing Bryan Stevenson narrate his incredibly moving and powerful book made the whole experience perfect.
The experiences of the people he defended and fought for are beyond heartbreaking. I can’t adequately express in words how important a book like this is and how relevant it is.
I wish I could get everyone to read this book. I am going to start by buying a copy and giving it to a friend. I also want to encourage others to buy the audible book because as I said hearing Mr. Stevenson’s voice narrating his incredible experiences makes the book even richer!!

A Powerful Tool!!!

Loved this book!! I am already Vegan but it reminded me of the reasons why I choose this lifestyle (compassion for animals) and gave me more reasons to be grateful for my decision (better health and a stronger body). I have been putting of meditation and yoga for awhile but after finishing this book I am getting started!!
