Historia
My name is Cain Sthyldor, a former assassin for the fae. I've met Death in person, I'm cursed by Cthulhu, know a gorgon, and have a pet octopus named Fred. I may not be a wizard from Chicago, an iron druid on the run, a hot-tempered maker who hates Girl Scouts, or part of a destructive duo from New York City, but I guarantee you'll be entertained.

Wanted to like it but couldn't
Revisado: 10-28-24
This book tries way too hard to be in the realm of Dresden but it feels like like it was written by a teenage boy. The dialogue is horrendous and over the top cringey. The story kind of exists but is overwhelmingly masked by prepubescent fantasy stories. Maybe it gets better later on in the series but it was so bad I had to quit a couple hours before finishing this book.

Historia
Vampires and humans live side by side thanks to an uneasy peace maintained by the Assembly. As an Arbiter for the powerful organization, Miles Watson is authorized to act as judge, jury, and executioner for anyone—living or undead—who breaks the law. But now Miles is up against a threat more sinister than anything he's seen in his centuries as a vampire. A criminal network in London is offering wealthy humans the chance to become vampires without the Assembly's consent. When the process goes disastrously wrong, the Boss wants to eliminate any trace of the fiasco.

Just could not do it
Revisado: 06-02-24
I am not one to return books on Audible but this narration was just so bad there was no way I would even be able to get into the story. It might be fine if you actually read the book but skip the audiobook version.

Historia
Present day American politics are at a historical state of divisiveness. Democrats and Republicans alike cling to their respective ideologies, their grip more firm today than yesterday. Both parties claim to only want what is best for the American people. The Liberty Solution proposes a bold rekindling of liberty for all, highlighting the various ways that federal, state, and local governments usurp the natural rights belonging to every individual. Using both historical evidence and news stories of today, Wills presents his case of grievances against the state.

Fantastic introduction to the idea of Liberty
Revisado: 10-03-22
This book is a great stepping stone to the writings of Mises, Rothbard, etc. and does stellar job as to why the idea of the state is doomed to fail. Introducing the idea of Anarcho-Capitalism is only the beginning.
