If AI Voice is the future of audio books, I’m boycotting. It’s like listening to sixth grade boys do popcorn reading in English class.
Here’s how I think the story was written: “Hey ChatGPT, write a novel and have the characters eat three meals a day, each described in expansive detail. Also, end every chapter with a moment of reflection and include all the Christian lingo you can find—but have that reflection be forgotten by the next chapter. Include a heroine who is described as ‘fascinating’ despite lacking depth. She should have to endure two natural disasters back-to-back and be afraid of thunderstorms even though she’s living in the Rockies. Her children shouldn’t be developed beyond being overly polite and obedient. Finally, have it wrap up in forty pages with unrealistic scenarios and zero conflict or loose ends. Oh yeah, be sure to include nonalcoholic champagne because that’s natural to mention.”
If you like clean romance, stick with Courtney Walsh instead.
