Historia
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

Grab the tissues!!

This was an absolute heartbreaker!! The story of the Atley’s is told through the father, Med. It’s as if he’s speaking right to you. I’ve never read anything quite like this and there are no words to describe how thoroughly I enjoyed the authors writing style.
Donna Faye is the youngest of his children. Born years after her siblings, she was barely 2 when her mother walked out on them all. Fast forward many years later and her 14 week old baby has ended up in the hospital in critical condition with very little hope of surviving. It’s at this point her baby is taken away from her… And I cannot stress this enough… she is only guilty of marrying a man with a short fuse and awful temperament.
It’s at this point that we all see the extent of her unhealthy mental state. From there, things just escalate. I won’t give any more of the book away lol I don’t like spoilers, so I’ll spare you all whether you want me to or not 😛 I will say that you should check your trigger warnings. Because I listened to it on Audible, there were none listed. But there is most definitely content that would be upsetting for others.
With all that being said, I hope you enjoy reading this, regardless of some of its serious nature.

Nope
Revisado: 06-12-24
Not only was this difficult to listen to because it was narrated with AI, but the story itself was badly written. I do not normally post 1 star reviews, choosing to not write anything at all. But this was an absolute train wreck that started from the very beginning.
While I do not have any trigger warnings, I was surprised at the lack of any with the first “N” word in the first chapter of this audio book. This was a never ending flow of stereotypical roles and interracial relationships. This read like a teenagers view of how romance works.
Being a novella I expected it to go fast, but this could’ve benefited from beta readers, sensitivity readers, arc readers and some major edits. There are so many plot holes and everything was rushed. This was a free download from Audible, and I get why.

Paranormal Romance
Revisado: 06-15-22
I was pleasantly surprised to find the narration was improved from the last book I had listened to that was done by N Ormerod. There are still some general issues I have with it. There is a disconnect that happens during the narration where it becomes monotonous at times and while there are still awkward pauses and the odd inflection, it’s much improved.
As for the story itself, I loved the plot line. This is not a typical insta-love story in that Alaina’s gift has enabled her to “see” Jaiden from a very young age. Olivia was an instant dislike 🤣 But I’m sure that’s what the author had intended. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that this isn’t your typical “shifter” romance where everyone is a werewolf. I’m looking forward to getting the books so that I can read them all and see what happens next lol I’m very curious to know what makes Alaina “different”.

First Jordan Elizabeth read
Revisado: 06-10-22
This was my first foray into the world of Jordan Elizabeth and while I thoroughly enjoyed the outline of the story and the characters involved, some scenes felt rushed through while others were drawn out. There wasn’t a lot of time for character development due to how fast paced it is. Unfortunately, the narration was not the best and so it was difficult to get through. There was no distinction between characters so it was hard to tell who was “talking”. There were a lot of awkward pauses and off cue inflections. I enjoy listening to audio books on my commute to and from work, but this was a struggle to get through from the beginning. I will definitely be getting the book so I can read the story fully and post a review regarding the just the reading
