Paraphrased to producers interpretation.
Revisado: 05-06-24
I stopped listening after the story of the business manager, cheating the employer out of what employees owed him. That’s not the issue, that is scripture. The interpretation that “the story tells you to take advantage of people so in the future you may prosper”.

Narration is painful
Revisado: 09-25-21
No doubt this is a good story as I love the author, but the narration of the story makes it painful to listen to.

Soft voice was difficult to listen to
Revisado: 03-10-21
The orators soft voice was not much of a very hard whisper. This made it difficult want to listen to her read the story.

Historia
A place you will never forget. Rosamunde Pilcher's Scotland...where the fields flourish with greenery, the bills bloom with purple, and the lochs glitter with the bright blue of the sky. A time you will never forget. September...when the heather is in full flower, the first chill of autumn cools the air, and the countryside stirs with the hunt, balls, dinner parties, and dance. Rosamunde Pilcher's September...a story of homecomings and heartbreaks, friendships, betrayals, forgiveness, and love.

Great story. Love the Scottish accents!
Revisado: 04-07-18
Great story. Gray performance. My only complaint is the many instances the narrator whispered parts of conversations. Otherwise, great book!

Historia
Theodora knows she can't keep her five beautiful daughters at home forever - they're too curious, too free spirited, too like their late father. And so, before each girl leaves the small house on the riverside at the foot of Mount Olympus, Theodora makes sure they know they are always welcome to return. A devoted and resilient mother, Theodora has lived through World War II, through the Nazi occupation of Greece, and through her husband's death, and now she endures the twenty-year-long silence of her daughters' absence.

Performance was outstanding
Revisado: 03-15-18
While this story’s performance was outstanding, the storyline was very painful to follow. By the time you reach the final chapter, the majority of the characters are forgotten. Had this book been arranged in a more chronological order the storyline would’ve been more realistic, easier to follow and much more enjoyed.

Read too too slow
Revisado: 02-14-17
This great story is spoiled by being read sooooo slow. I can change the speed but 1.25 is too fast to enjoy. I can not find a happy in between.

The spring of 1824 is a challenging one for the inhabitants of Paradise N.Y. when a flood devastates the village. But for Nathaniel and Elizabeth Bonner, it’s also a time of reunion as their children return from far-off places: Lily and her husband from Italy, and Martha Kirby, the Bonners’ ward, from Manhattan. Although Lily is nursing her own grief, it is Martha, fleeing a crushing humiliation, who brings with her trouble that will reverberate in all their lives.

Fantastic narration
Revisado: 02-08-17
I've listened to every novel in this series. I still find it difficult believing only one person narrates these stories. She fills the role of each character in a way that gives you a vivid picture of each.
