Historia
Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Spectacular with insane twists (no spoiler review)
Revisado: 01-31-23
Okay first of all this book is really really good but it is DARK. Like so, so dark. And graphic. And just about covers all the topics that would make this VERY rated R. It’s not a bed time fall asleep to it book. But I am an AVID audiobook listener (like sometimes 3 a week), specifically psychological thrillers, and this was SO GOOD! Absolutely worth a credit, maybe even 2.

Historia
Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first Lo's stay is nothing but pleasant: The cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, and gray skies fall.

I really wanted it to get better (no spoilers)
Revisado: 01-23-23
With all the buildup and the character plot lines introduced and all the possibilities that could lead to, I was expecting so so much more. They spent such little time on the characters who would really be the major moving pieces of this that I felt nothing when multiple of the climaxes happened. Also, some extremely unsurvivable events back to back were treated like nothing- 3 story fall, swimming for hours in hypothermia inducing water (after being starved for multiple days), still having wet clothes and falling down a ravine and breaking an ankle, then running over 12hrs wet on a broken ankle…….adrenaline can do a lot but not quite that.

Every single one of Catherine’s Books are AMAZING
Revisado: 01-21-23
Absolutely spectacular. Especially when “a game” associated with an extremely wealthy family plot line has been so over done. But this is absolutely NOTHING like any of the classic plots. She writes in a way that as things start to unfold you think you’ve figured out the story and then another thread unravels, another thread unravels, and you’re so shocked all you can do is wait for Catherine to pull the last threads and get to the ending!!!

When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

IGNORE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS (no spoilers)
Revisado: 01-06-23
Spectacularly well written. It had so many layers it was the biggest onion ever, without the bad smell. It had all the insane layers of gone girl but it wasn’t quite the level of gone girl in my opinion just because the wife in gone girl was absolutely ruthless and she didn’t care for a second who was hurt which made it more shocking. But the amount of shocks in this is equivalent. Hope that makes sense just don’t want to give away anything!! Just get this book and start listening!!!!

Louise has trouble on her hands from the first moment that 5-year-old Billy Blackthorn comes to stay. He is one of more than 20 children taken into care from a single family, and erupts into the Allen household with a volatility that is frightening and disturbing in equal measure. It is only as Louise begins to uncover the secrets of Billy's dark past that she begins to understand what made his family 'untouchable'.

Okay so I want to say such a good book because it is but it is a dark. I’ve listened to all the well known foster carers like Cathy Glass and etc and honestly this is the craziest story I’ve ever read about a child background. Louise is so hilarious though with her sarcasm and sassy commentary.

Good but almost gave up on it a few times
Revisado: 10-09-22
The whole basis plot is pretty far fetched and quite a few times I was like ugh eye roll that’s so unrealistic and slow. Mainly the first 2/3 that were done through the Evie character. Other character chapters were good through out though. The end is wild and really great!

Rosie Lewis Never Dissapoints
Revisado: 09-14-22
I absolutely love Rosie’s writing style. Her writing style of the story progressing is excellent, some other author memoirs build it up to be this big climax when the truth comes out and then the rest of the book is down hill but Rosie’s realizations are well timed and there’s no anticlimax. She has a great mixture of the day to day like “procedural” aspects of caring for children/daily activities while also working in the neurological and developmental basis for how the child may be struggling and the skills she uses to support them. She’s one of the reasons I plan to foster so I love hearing the explanations. Also this family’s experience is so unique and darker than any others I’ve read. But please put all your books on audible!!!! I want to read all her books but I’m dyslexic so audiobooks really allow me to enjoy and experience the book.
