Apocalyptic, Character supported zombieish tale
Revisado: 09-10-19
It is not a fresh take on the whole Post Apocalyptical zombie romp. But it sure felt fresh as I read the whole 50 hours in less than three weeks. ( I went camping for a week of it. ) The character development, plot, dialogue are all well done. The pacing was a bit on the slower side in comparison to a newer aged book. But HEY you got 50 hours. Each book got better as they went on. I felt that I was watching the Authors improve as they enjoyed writing these books.
As for the setting, they kind of nailed a bleak world of zombies/monsters and the leftovers of our civilization. But the setting remained grey the whole time. Each book has an ending most of them leaving you off in a cliff hanger.
The Narrator is great but he takes a little time to get used too. I have listened to him before and enjoyed his tellings of other stories. Some might love him some might say he is the most overrated monotone narrator in the business. Just give him a change.. 4 hours at least.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Revisado: 06-30-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Columbus Day to be better than the print version?
In my mind R.C Bray can do no wrong. I love that guys voice.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I think i would have made it more alien vs something we humans can relate too. I see the author's point in making hamsters and lizards. But it is what it is. I love Skippy the AI, he is super funny.
What about R.C. Bray’s performance did you like?
Bray is the man. He even better have a nice full beard! He is one of my favorites. I follow him and even listen to books he does. {like this one}
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I chopped this one up.
Any additional comments?
I am trying to break into space genre. I am a total Epic Fantasy guy.

Historia
Eric didn't ask to be a vampire. In fact he didn't even believe in them. Biting your own tongue with your fangs does a lot of convincing. Even so, being a part-time undead isn't as easy as you might think. It can let you hold down a day job, true, but sometimes the night "life" can be more than a little difficult, what with those bloodthirsty urges and predatory instincts kicking in.

Revisado: 11-05-16
Would you listen to Nightlord again? Why?
I might... That is saying a ton... because i do not listen to many books twice.
What other book might you compare Nightlord to and why?
I put down ton of books in my time. I can not find a book that I can think about too compare this writing with. It is written in journal style. I going to say that might be a off putting at first. But there is a very good story, world building, magic system and character development.
Have you listened to any of Sean Runnette’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened too Sean Runnette before. Some post apocalyptic book cant remember the name. He reminds me of Alan Alda voice but a tad bit more drone like. He is a great narrator. He might even break my top 10.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Night Lord is very fitting.
Any additional comments?
Too be honest I found this book looking for a easy read. This was not a easy one, in fact I had to rewind some times. If your looking for a different kind of read and you love epic fantasy with a small urban twist go for this one.

Revisado: 10-17-16
What made the experience of listening to The Last Tribe the most enjoyable?
I really liked this book. I can see why some people are saying that its boring. But every now and then I just want a good character driven book that does not take you on a train ride to hell and back. Yea everybody on earth pretty much dies but still its a nice change of pace that I enjoyed.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Last Tribe?
When Greg approaches Rebecca's house. After reading so many Zombie and post apocalyptic books I was just thinking "DONT DO IT" And it turns out kind of Teenie bopper funny.
What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Scott Brick is the MAN. I honestly follow him around looking for new books.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Being as the word tribe is used so much in the book it would be hard to not go with the original name.
Any additional comments?
So if you looking for a happy book with little conflict this is it. Your not going to be gripping your seat or anything. Your just going to have a happy day in a sunny field with a few white clouds. Some people might call this book a tad boring. Sometimes I just need a break from all the action. I might even re-read this book and I never do that.

Revisado: 03-26-16
What made the experience of listening to Yesterday's Gone: Season One the most enjoyable?
All the Narrators was a big change for me. I liked it but had some harder times giving characters a distinction from just the voice. Would have to focus in or even rewind.
What other book might you compare Yesterday's Gone: Season One to and why?
They are completely differently written books. But you end up with the good time/action-ee feeling from the Mt. Mountain series.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
As I said I would wait to read this book till you have a few audibles under the belt. If your a audible rookie your going to have a hard time listening to this book. It is also something you need to pay attention too. No audible drone driving here.
Over all I personally think they did a B+ as a collective.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I do not even have that kind of time.
Any additional comments?
If your looking to get that post apocalyptic zombie book feel/need.. this one will do it for you.

Historia
How much must one pay for an hour of youthful folly? The Pureblood Registry accused Lucian de Remeni-Masson of "unseemly involvement with ordinaries", which meant only that he spoke with a young woman not of his own kind, allowed her to see his face unmasked, worked a bit of magic for her.... After that one mistake, Lucian’s grandsire excised half his magic and savage Harrowers massacred his family.

Good but not for everybody.
Revisado: 06-17-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Depends on the kind of reader they are. Yes, if they match the genre of this type of book. Not going to recommend this book to people who really only read Epic Fantasy. The book is in first person.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Lucien hard not to like. He is the main character when your reading a 1st person book.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Lucien gets his day and calls out the murder of the little girl... Plus a whole bunch more then that.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
To be honest.. I fell asleep during this book a whole bunch of times. I would have to go back chapters because I fell asleep so much. Do not get me wrong the book is not boring, its just not really exciting. I almost gave it a 3 star to be honest. But I thought some of the Robin Hobb fans might like this book.
Any additional comments?
Over all this book is written well and the magic system is fun, along with the world building. This book has many things to offer. I kind of felt some of the battle scenes were a tad weak.
And the book ends in a cliff hanger ... If you like Lucien at all your going to want to find out what happens to him in book two.

5 STAR!
Revisado: 06-04-15
If you could sum up A Crucible of Souls in three words, what would they be?
F antastic
U nconditional
N ourishment
Who was your favorite character and why?
Caldan, the main character of the story. He felt realistic even though he is a young man who is a one of the best swordsman, crafter, sorcerer. He seems to have a ignorance about him that is portrayed well. And it helps you relate or feel sorry for the guy.
What about Oliver Wyman’s performance did you like?
Oliver hands down is a professional. But for this American guy he is a rolling start. You got to give him a few chapters and let your self get into the story. After that, you get use to him and he does a superb job at voice acting and voices.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I did I gave the book a 5 Star. =)
Any additional comments?
Ok, This book has some literary/editor issues. I am not going to get into them or nit pic. I rate a book on how much I enjoy it. This book had some of the characteristics of my favorite book The Name of the Wind. If you liked that book you will definitively like this one.

Historia
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

4.75 stars =)
Revisado: 05-29-15
What did you love best about The Shadow of What Was Lost?
I loved that it was not disappointing. Good read all the way through. It does have a story and plot line that is a little used up, but HEY it makes a great book. And if your not one to pay attention to those things this is a 4.95 star all the way.
Who was your favorite character and why?
For the first time in a long time my favorite character is not the main one. It was Asha I thought a little bit more could have been done with her. I willing to bet she got some script cut out in a edit.
What about Michael Kramer’s performance did you like?
Been listening to Michael for years. The one thing I like about him is that he seems to improve just a little bit every newer book I listen to of his. Yea your going to hear Mat Coffins voice no matter what you do.. but that can be listened over once you engross yourself into the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This question should be deleted. It is a pretty darn good listen if you ask me. It was not that humorous but it had some good action and the magic system was very interesting. Most of the character development was pretty good too.
Any additional comments?
Dont skip this one. Its a great Epic High Fantasy.

Revisado: 04-11-15
What made the experience of listening to Well Fed the most enjoyable?
R.C. Bray and the O so sweet paring with (Gus) the Protagonist. The graveling voice of Bray and character creation by Blackmore is so darn great.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Well Fed?
O the ending.. I think everyone would agree. no spoilers here.
Which scene was your favorite?
Don't get me wrong all the Mountain man books are action packed zombie joy. But you really get attached to Gus and hope the best for him. So again the ending was my favorite.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I felt the first part of the book was a short story plugged into the main story. It was as if I was reading the hospital at first. I like a good old action sequence at the first part of a book as much as the next guy. But the mansion part was a little long for me. I was super anxious to get on with the main story.
Any additional comments?
If you looking for some zombie novels you wont go wrong with Mountain Man. As far as the Zombie genre go's I would say the Mountain Man series are top tier.

Would you listen to Circle of Reign again? Why?
No, I am not a repeater and you should not be either!
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the character development that came along with a good quick pace in the story.
What about Michael Kramer’s performance did you like?
Holden and Ryall's little conversations. I kind of felt Michael was breaking some new ground for himself during these conversations.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Extreme reaction? Well I didn't break into hives or anything. But if your just asking about normal book reading reactions sure. I laughed and had a general good time while listening.
Any additional comments?
Good book and worth the read. It is a little battle heavy, so for some who are not into that I am giving you a warning. The last battle was kind of drawn out but still enjoyable.
