Historia
Have you ever felt stuck in a cycle of unresolved pain, playing offenses over and over in your mind? You know you can't go on like this, but you don't know what to do next. Lysa TerKeurst has wrestled through this journey. But in surprising ways, she’s discovered how to let go of bound-up resentment and overcome the resistance to forgiving people who aren’t willing to make things right. I Can’t Forget This Book on Forgiveness
Revisado: 09-13-24
This book was exceptional! It covered forgiveness thoroughly and from a biblical perspective. Author Terkeurst has the courage to write about her own life experiences with being wronged and having to work through forgiveness with each instance. She is beyond vulnerable in what she shares and so this book conveys the real, heartfelt emotions and struggles of someone that has been deeply hurt.
I love how this book is not based on the author’s opinion but rather on the truth of scripture. The author has a great writing style that uses a lot of well-suited analogies to help the reader grasp the lessons and truths that are necessary in order to be able to move forward positively from life’s most devastating letdowns.
This book is helping me properly work through forgiveness and for that, I’m grateful. I am also extremely glad I listened to this audiobook because of my involvement in leadership in my church, workplace and home. I know I can use principles from this book to help others as well as recommend this book to others (which I have already done). I know I will be revisiting this book often because there is an ongoing need for forgiveness in this world and because this book extracted its truths from the One who said He is Truth. - Ed M

Historia
Malcolm Gladwell has long relished the opportunity to skewer the upper echelons of higher education, from the institution of U.S. News & World Report’s Best College rankings to the LSATs to the luxe Bowdoin College cafeteria. I Hate the Ivy League: Riffs and Rants on Elite Education, upends the traditional thinking around how education should work and tries to get to the bottom of why we often reward the wrong people.

I love the way Malcolm Gladwell respectfully challenges the way we think about higher education/college!

Historia
In his new book The Happiness Equation, Pasricha illustrates how to want nothing and do anything in order to have everything. If that sounds like a contradiction in terms, you simply have yet to unlock the nine secrets to happiness. Each secret takes a piece out of the core of common sense, turns it on its head to present it in a completely new light, and then provides practical and specific guidelines for how to apply this new outlook to lead a fulfilling life.

Ignoring all advice is impossible
Revisado: 04-12-22
I found various pieces of advice throughout the book to be helpful, except for the idea of “it’s all about you” any of 9 keys that said to focus on you. I have found happiness is in serving others and using one’s gifts and abilities to serve others. It’s quite fulfilling, just as the author sharing his message on happiness with others is fulfilling. The final message about don’t take anyone’s advice is a counterproductive message to writing a book. A book like this is an entire book of advice so to tell the reader to ignore all advice is to tell readers to ignore the advice in this book or in any other book. This means that if you are the average of the people that are around you most, you need to get away from them because they are giving you advice at some point or another. We learn and grow by the advice we receive, consider and discern. You can’t ignore all advice. You have to discern what advice will serve you well and what will not serve you well. As you mature, you might decipher a way to test advice to see if it’s worth considering. I have a personal filter that helps me discern advice and I think it’s better to help people determine the best way to exercise discernment than to say ignore all advice. That’s impossible. Advice is offered everywhere and unfortunately this book that offered some good advice ended on the wrong note for me.
