Historia
Women can be heroes. When twenty-year-old nursing student Frances “Frankie” McGrath hears these words, it is a revelation. Raised in the sun-drenched, idyllic world of Southern California and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing. But in 1965, the world is changing, and she suddenly dares to imagine a different future for herself. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she joins the Army Nurse Corps and follows his path.

Poignant, powerful, and revealing
Revisado: 02-27-24
The Women is a heartbreaking and poignantly powerful novel that was long overdue.
The story reveals the horrors of the war in Vietnam, as well as the resilience of the men and women who put their lives on the line for a war that never should’ve happened. While in college, I wore a bracelet with the words MIA and the name of a missing soldier. I never found out if he came home alive. I hope this novel will touch so many people that we will never let this happen again. In telling their story, you bear witness to their experiences, and in so doing, honor their lives, and make sure they are no longer invisible. Thank you for bringing the story of these women to light.
