Historia
The six Herdman children are “absolutely the worst kids in the history of the world”. They lie and steal and smoke cigars. They even burned down Fred Shoemaker’s old toolhouse. Now they’re taking over the Christmas pageant. The Herdmans have never heard the Christmas story before, and they don’t know anything about shepherds or Wise Men. When Imogene hears about the swaddling clothes, she demands to know why anyone would tie up a baby and put him in a feedbox.

“Christians” could learn a lot from this story!
Revisado: 12-23-18
If you listen and then hear what is really being said... Jesus came for everyone not just those that act or look a certain way. The “Mom” in this story is my Supper Hero by showing true acceptance, patience and love. There was more of Jesus in this story than I have seen in many churches. Amazing story that had me laughing out loud and crying by the end. Listened with my family on the way to family Christmas! The reader did a great job capturing the voices and the tone of the story. Thank you!

Historia
David Marquet, an experienced navy officer, was used to giving orders. Marquet acted like any other captain until, one day, he unknowingly gave an impossible order, and his crew tried to follow it anyway. Marquet realized he was leading in a culture of followers, and they were all in danger unless they fundamentally changed the way they did things. Struggling against his own instincts to take control, he instead achieved the vastly more powerful model of giving control.

Very encouraging!
Revisado: 01-25-18
It was refreshing to hear that someone of this caliber did not have it all figured out before he embarked on a major change to how the Navy ran a submarine! It was even better to learn how it was done and the mistakes and then the follow up to continue improvement. Great examples with a good level of detail that make the points come alive. Really appreciate the summary at the end of each chapter with ‘mechanisms’ and ‘things to consider’ both very helpful in learning and absorbing the information.

Historia
Joel Salatin is perhaps the nation's best known farmer, whose environmentally friendly, sustainable Polyface Farms has been featured in Food, Inc. and Time magazine. Now, in his first audiobook written for a faith audience, Salatin offers a deeply personal argument for earth stewardship and calls for fellow Christians to join him in looking to the Bible for a foodscape in line with spiritual truth.

Amen! Preach it Brother!!
Revisado: 05-17-16
I really appreciated how Joel connects the physical (food & farming) with the spiritual (faith & God). We often separate the two and yet to God and the world He made they are interconnected and wonderfully amazing.
This book will make you think and ask some hard questions about what you may have thought was not part of your Faith and challenge you to do things differently!
I would recommend this book to anyone that eats, buys or grows food!!!
Joel does a great job of narrating his book. I have heard him in person and this is how he is; passionate, energetic and inspiring!

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Very exciting but hard story to hear...
Revisado: 03-15-16
I enjoyed the reader and his voice was very good for this story.
The middle of this story is very hard to listen to but so important to know of the power of people and choices they make for both evil and for good. The last few chapters are amazing and show the power of forgiveness and God's grace extended to us. Louie and his many friends and family are examples of courage, respect and dedication. Thank you!

Historia
Jim Nicholson was one of the CIA's top veteran case officers. By day he taught spycraft at the CIA's clandestine training center, The Farm. By night he was a minivan-driving single father racing home to have dinner with his kids. But Nicholson led a double life. For more than two years, he had met covertly with agents of Russia's foreign intelligence service and turned over troves of classified documents. In 1997 Nicholson became the highest-ranking CIA officer ever convicted of espionage.

My Uncle was a Spy for the CIA!
Revisado: 03-08-16
My Dad was having breakfast with his older brother and they were about to play their usual game of Cribbage when he said, the 50 year moratorium on what I did in the Army is up want to hear some stories? What I really did was work for the CIA... My Uncle passed away last month and I never got to hear the stories but my Dad remembered a few and wrote them down. He told my Dad that this book would give me a good idea of what his life was like in the CIA. I enjoyed all of the local references as I live in Oregon and work in the Willamette valley area. The reader was excellent and the story very well written. I had many "driveway moments" where I could not stop listening!
