Historia
Living in the home he inherited from his mother and abandoned by his father, painter and construction worker Cash has never known anything beyond the fields of Johnston, Wisconsin-never particularly wanted to, either. Why would he when his friends are there, his work is there, his history is there? He loves Johnston. But when an emerald-eyed stranger named Rose blows into town one summer evening in his favorite local bar, everything changes. It's love at first sight. For Cash, anyway.

Skogman's voice is poetry
Revisado: 09-30-24
This book is an ode to small town, middle of nowhere America. Skogman writes of family and friends and love and loss. He muses on the complex relationships between fathers and sons and the legacy they leave. This book isn't exactly a straight narrative to take you from point A to point B. It reads almost like a memoir, a nostalgic look at Midwest life with its triumphs and challenges. Cash, the narrator, seems like someone you'd like to know. There is a spiritual quality to this book that shows a tender perspective on life. You may look at everyone with more compassion after reading it.

Jeff Hayes's narration never disappoints
Revisado: 09-26-24
Jeff Hayes brings life and individuality to each character. His proficiency with voices and accents is amazing. But without good subject matter, this would not be enough. Dinniman brings such complexity to a game story. There is humor and pathos. This is a story of friendship and found family amidst the trauma of a lethal game. Each level is unique and this level has dinosaurs.

Historia
When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people - who knew?). Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans! Again!

I love this snarky bot/construct
Revisado: 02-05-24
I can't get enough Murderbot. The plot is exciting and concise. The dialog perfectly reflects the nature of the character. Murderbot's inner monolog is so fun. They are insecure, paranoid, anti-social, and sarcastic, but still loyal and fiercely protective of whatever humans are in their charge. In this book, Murderbot is the most autonomous they have ever been. The mystery is well thought out and has a number of twists that makes the end a surprise. Such a fun and enjoyable read

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Hoping the movie measures up
Revisado: 03-03-18
Wil Wheaton rocks! He is the perfect narrator for this book. Because I mostly listened to this while driving, I had a lot of driveway moments, sitting in the driveway listening to get to the end of a chapter. I loved the pop culture references and the storyline never lagged. The ending was satisfying and meaningful. I'm hoping the movie does it justice. I now feel an almost overwhelming urge to rewatch some old movies and listen to a Rush album.
