Disappointed
Revisado: 02-01-25
About ... 10 hours in? 12? A romantic development starts to develop between 2 characters portrayed as male (without spoilers). This development is a huge disappointment. I cannot finish the novel or trust Sanderson's content. Sadness. I have enjoyed his writing up to this point and have appreciated the clean content.

Thank you, Jodi Taylor
Revisado: 06-28-23
Thank you, Jodi Taylor, for another great escape from reality. How do you do it? Weave everything together with so much heart and devilish wit?Through the power of chocolate, you say? My only complaint is that I now must arrange myself to await the next installment as patiently as possible, and am on a low carb diet. This isn't your fault, Jodi, but dark chocolate just isn't cutting it for me. Please live long, prosper, and write lots and lots more. -Nana W.

Historia
In this Audible Exclusive production, Academy Award® nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) narrates one of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Sense and Sensibility. In this timeless tale of misguided romance and heartbreak, two teenage heroines must overcome the pitfalls of Georgian England’s high society in order to achieve the love and happiness they seek. The admiration that Pike has for Austen’s work is shown clearly through this passionate delivery of Austen’s first published novel.

Great narration!
Revisado: 01-29-23
Jane Austen feeds my soul. I especially appreciate the narration in this version. Sometimes the more comical characters like Mrs. Jennings become too strident in tone , but I appreciate the variety and richness in the narrator's range.

Promising story, but...
Revisado: 01-23-23
I have mixed feelings. As much promise as this book showed in many ways, in others, the writing either tried too hard or suffered from a lack of skilled editing. And I did become curious enough to think about continuing to read the series...but...here is the thing: some parts were uncomfortable to read just because I did not believe the dialogue coming out of the characters' mouths. For example, I hated all the dwelling on the main character's first menstrual cycle, and the male character's comically awkward reactions in that first scene were just not believable. He was just too too straight a character before that point. Other characters were hard to love or hate, but I did like the boy Hem (spelling?).

Historia
For the last several years, Penn and Kim Holderness of The Holderness Family have done the hard maintenance and the research to learn how to fight better. With the help of their marriage coach Dr. Christopher Edmonston, they break down their biggest (and in some cases, funniest) fights. How did a question about chicken wings turn into a bra fight (no, not a bar fight; a bra fight)? How did a roll of toilet paper lead to tears, resentment, and a stint in the guest bedroom?

Husband finished first!
Revisado: 10-04-22
I loved the moments when the two just paused to talk in between reading. My husband became a fan when these two were on the amazing race, and he was impressed by the way the two supported one another. We both started listening together but got busy, so my husband actually finished on his own. He has started looking at some issues differently because of this book. I hope I am changing little things too. Thanks, you two! :)

A Solid Series
Revisado: 06-13-22
I thoroughly enjoyed the way magic and the world works in this series. I liked the slower pacing a great deal, and the character development felt so genuine. I do hope Wrede writes more stories in this world.

Best voice for Dustfinger and Moe ever
Revisado: 04-10-22
Loved Frasier's narrating so much. I preferred his voice over those in the first and third audiobooks. This series was packed with ups and downs that had me struggling emotionally to continue; I often had to take breaks and come back. BUT! It did work out in the end every time...relief!

Historia
Ivan is an easygoing gorilla. Living at the Exit 8 Big Top Mall and Video Arcade, he has grown accustomed to humans watching him through the glass walls of his domain. He rarely misses his life in the jungle. In fact, he hardly ever thinks about it at all. Instead, Ivan thinks about TV shows he's seen and about his friends Stella, an elderly elephant, and Bob, a stray dog. But mostly Ivan thinks about art and how to capture the taste of a mango or the sound of leaves with color and a well-placed line.

Painfully Sad, Redemption at the End
Revisado: 02-05-22
I loved the beginnings of the book, but the heartwrenching middle nearly did me in, no more spoilers, except to say that if you've suffered many losses, and are seeking a silly children's book, this is not the one to atart with your child. However, I believe the ending paid for all. And now there is a sequel, what joy! I hope...

SO Good! Much better than expected!
Revisado: 12-14-21
I read some reviews that sounded so negative about, oh...a lack of character development/plot/etc. with this story, and I cannot imagine anyone being more wrong! If you liked Lyft's (sp?) character thread last time, you should enjoy this little sidetrip.
