Historia
Margot and James are broken up—for good this time. James made sure of it when he dropped the bomb on Margot: that he doesn’t want kids, ever. Then, on the biggest morning of his life, James—an ambitious lawyer at a high-powered firm—wakes up pregnant. He realizes with dread that he is part of a recent epidemic of men suddenly and inexplicably becoming pregnant. His condition obvious to the higher-ups, James is denied the promotion he was expecting, sending him reeling.

Absolutely brilliant!!
Revisado: 02-18-23
This book captures the pain and suffering of unwanted pregnancies which has been fine when it was women experiencing it. And Ms. Picoult shows us a stark contrast when it starts to affect men in the same unique way. I loved this book and recommend it to everyone, no matter how one feels about abortion, because the theme of this book is about choice. Well done!

Historia
Stoneybridge is a small town on the west coast of Ireland where all the families know one another. When Chicky Starr decides to take an old, decaying mansion set high on the cliffs overlooking the windswept Atlantic Ocean and turn it into a restful place for a holiday by the sea, everyone thinks she is crazy. Helped by Rigger (a bad boy turned good who is handy around the house) and Orla, her niece (a whiz at business), Chicky is finally ready to welcome the first guests to Stone House’s big warm kitchen, log fires, and understated elegant bedrooms.

A great pleasure read!
Revisado: 12-13-22
I so enjoyed the storylines in this book. There are so many stories told that I listened to it twice so I could savor the tales of all the lives told. I might play it again, just for the sheer pleasure.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

SO so good!
Revisado: 11-25-21
What a great book! The history, and the storyline were poignant and gripping. I listened to the book to and from work and often started getting choked up by both the tragedy, and the beauty of the tale. So good!

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

A powerful book
Revisado: 01-12-17
Trevor Noah brings apartheid to life in broad strokes and nuances, and he tells his stories with a humor, insight and sensitivity that draws the reader closer. I laughed with him in his triumphs and cried with his pain. This is a book that will stay with me for a very long time.
