Historia
The years of battling in the Coliseum had prepared Darius for the acts of a warrior. The counsel of his brother had taught him to fight only with honor. The love of this woman had given him the heart to accept who he must become. Juliet had called him her gladiator...and he was. He would fight for her, not Rome. And if it meant protecting her, Darius would kill without hesitation.

I have been a longtime fan of Caldeira. The way she brings stories to life is astounding, and this was no different. Tokens from Juliet was right down my alley. I love the Roman and Greek era, and the idea of the coliseum and gladiators. This book gives you all that and more. I wish it was longer, I enjoyed it that much.
Caldeira keeps one upping herself with each book that is released. She never fails to impress. Her ability to change accents and maintain all of the voices is unbelievable. She is obviously very talented, and I can't wait for more of her narrations to come out!

Predictable story, but excellent narrator!
Revisado: 07-15-15
this book was interesting to say the least. It is about some young kids who go through a journey together to help discover themselves. I don't want to spoil it for anyone but that is the gist of it. I can see where the other was going with the plot, but for me it was a little to predictable. On another note, I thought that some of the lines pushed the moral/premise of the book a little to mush. I rather enjoy books that make you have to think, but with this one, I knew why the other wrote it a few chapters in (which added to the predictability). It is not a bad book by any means, I enjoyed it throughly. It was just not to my liking.
However the reason why I kept listening was the unbelievable narrator. I was introduced to Felisha Caldeira in her first book Polishing Jade (which I highly recommend to everyone), and was hooked. Whereas in Polishing Jade she narrated in a southern accent, this audiobook she narrated with an American accent. That wasn't the shocking part however, the shocking part was that there were so many different characters from so many different nationalities that Felisha had to narrate, and she excelled at it. I can't imagine how she did it, all I know is it is nothing short of spectacular. Felisha had me hooked from Polishing Jade, and this just enhances my enthusiasm for her narration, I can't wait to listen to whatever book comes out next!

Historia
Polishing Jade is set in the 1960's in rural Mississippi where the secrets are as sticky as the jams sold at Taylor's General Store. Jade Gentry is a young girl whose past will not control her future even if it cost her everything. Gripping and suspenseful, Jade will leave you sighing when she sighs, running when she runs, and celebrating when she is triumphant!

Beautifully captured

This is a story of hope. Everyone struggles, everyone goes through pain, yet most of us try to hide it because it is not the "american" way of success. Books like this, that are so brutally honest and real, is what the world needs. Polishing Jade follows a girl who goes through some terrible tragedies, but continues on to find herself with the help of community and the hand of God. Beautiful book, and I highly recommend it.
The narration is just as brilliant as the book itself. As an avid audiobook listener, I tend to be a little critical about narrators, but while listening to Polishing Jade I could not pick out anything negative about the narration. Felisha Caldeira does a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life, and portraying the varying emotions of the characters. This is Felisha's first audiobook recording, and I'm sure it wont be the last. Felisha, you have a fan in me!
Overall, I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone who needs a little encouragement.
