This has and will always be one of my favorite books. I can't say how many times I have read it both in print and now on Audible.com. It has everything intrigue, danger, heroics, romance, battles with plenty of blood and gore and just a hint of historical meaning to make you think "may be"

Historia
Port Mortuary, the title of Patricia Cornwell's 18th Scarpetta novel, is literally a port for the dead. In this fast-paced story, a treacherous path from Scarpetta's past merges with the high-tech highway she now finds herself on. We travel back to the beginning of her professional career, when she accepted a scholarship from the air force to pay off her medical school debt. Now, more than 20 years and many career successes later, her secret military ties have drawn her to Dover Air Force Base, where she has been immersed in a training fellowship.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I was not as happy with this narrator as I was with the other in the other books. But she did Ok.

Minalan gets medieval! When you defeat the invading goblin army, get knighted on the field of battle, gifted with lands and gold, usually your happily-ever-after is...happy. But now that Minalan the Spellmonger has been ennobled and enfiefed, Sire Minalan has a task cut out for him that makes defeating goblins seem like child’s play: Moving his very pregnant bride and a few thousand refugees from Boval Vale into the remote, sparsely peopled Domain of Sevendor. But when he arrives, he finds the land withered from neglect, filled with superstition and suspicion.

Historia
Minalan gave up a promising career as a professional warmage to live the quiet life of a village spellmonger in the remote mountain valley of Boval. It was a peaceful, beautiful little fief, far from the dangerous feudal petty squabbles of the Five Duchies, on the world of Callidore. There were cows. Lots of cows. And cheese. For six months things went well: He found a quaint little shop, he befriended the local lord, the village folk loved him, he found a sharp young apprentice to help out, and, best yet, he met a comely young widow with the prettiest eyes.

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Hard to Listen
Revisado: 05-01-15
Would you try another book from M. R. Mathias and/or Christine Padovan?
I'm trying to enjoy the story itself, I believe it may be a good story but the narrator makes it difficult to stay into the story. I may need to stop listening to it and download the written version in order to get through it.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The narrator places emphases and inflextion in all the wrong places in the sentances. Althogh the narrator is capable of creating different characters, her sub-par reading makes it difficult staying in the story.

Unbearable
Revisado: 04-17-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I was unable to listen to the first chapter of the novel because of the narrator, he put all the wrong inflections in all the wrong places in the sentences, and was completely monotone. It was unbearable. Worst of all I won't be able to listen to the other 2books in the series until I get around to "reading" book 1 now, cause I refuse to jump around in a series. And if the same narrator is on the others I won't be able to listen to them either.
What could M. R. Mathias have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Used a different narrator.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Chris Dorman?
Alexander Edward Trefethen would have been a good choice as narrator.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Sword and the Dragon, Revised?
Unable to get past first couple paragraphs to find out about any scenes.
