What did you like best about this story?
The story in itself, the look at aging, how the grandchild could understand things the son could not.
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator used a tone as if he was in pain the entire time. The voice was the same, monotone, in pain. Even if the story is sad, no story is sad all along and the monotone made it difficult for me to be engaged. The story was so good that I did finish the book, but it was painful --no pun intended :)

What disappointed you about French Short Stories for Beginners?
The reader's voice is unbearable to me. He speaks super slow and in a very monotone tone. Hard to stay awake.
