it's just so righteous. humans are viruses.. global warming. blah blah. all it's missing is dividing people into scientists and anti vaxxer. perhaps it does that later in the book, I couldn't get past first chapter. yuck.

Still nice.. I think I might be too old for this book. Storyline is nice, a bit on the smarty-pants side of character writing. would definitely enjoy if I was a few decades younger.

Another Hollywood gun grabber. Lame shallow book. Stick to acting mate. Ditch politics. Your book is shallow and only low IQ peeps will vote for you. Too late for a refund. should have used the audible credit for Russian literature instead of this garbage.

Starts great, then characters become dumb

I get it . Standards for thrillers and suspense were lower in the 90s but this book feels like someone just tried really hard to make this long. The erotic scenes and the computer talk made me cringe badly. It gets 3 stars because it starts well and performance is decent. I wouldn't bother wasting hours on this boring story and cliche characters though.

The SciFi is such a small part of the book. It's a love story that happens to have time travel. Came in with no expectations, sad the author only seems to have 2 audiobooks.

Such a fun book

I loved it! I was not expecting anything, just made a wild bet. This was a really great book, nice idea with just enough twist. I was not a huge can of the Svetlana character but still, really great sci-fi book. It could make a great movie.

Lots of potential

Characters a little flat for my taste.
In addition, no spoilers because it's pretty easy to guess how it will end.
Interesting idea, felt more teen-appropriate rather than adults.
Lastly, if the narrator ever reads this- you are amazing, but... please work on your female voice. It's cringey.

I really wanted to love this book

I love Cixin Liu. I enjoyed everything I read from him. Not So much this one.

The good:
You can trust Cixin Liu to have original, complex ideas that make you think "this could totally be possible". The stories in this book carry the unique and interesting quality I love. All stories made me wish there would be a sequel, full length book.

The could-be-better:
While the short stories are interesting, they felt to me a bit "unfinished". Almost like they were under developed pitches/pilots for full length books. And the narration drove me crazy. Why have a different narrator for every short story? It takes me time to get used to a style and a voice. I would prefer to have just one.
