THE DAYS BEFORE A WOMAN HAD VALUE OF HER SELF OR WAS VALUED ENOUGH TO HAVE AN EDUCATION OR BIRTH CONTROL, SHE COULD EASILY BECOME A SLAVE TO A MAN & SOCIETY LONG AFTER SLAVERY WAS ABOLISHED. WHETHER SHE WAS BLACK OR WHITE.
THIS IS A VERY VISUAL STORY THAT SHOWS HOW A WOMAN CAN BECOME STRONG, CHOOSING TO LIVE FOR HER SELF & CHILDREN & BECOME A STEEL MAGNOLIA FOR THEM TO SEE .

THE NARRATION WAS SO WELL DONE, AND I WISH THERE WERE MORE DEB SPERA BOOKS TO LISTEN TO !

VIVID PICTURES PAINTED JUST FOR YOU

This is a very visual book ! There is no way of listening to the beautiful voices of the readers with out them filling your brain with pictures galore. The sounds also come through , but the pictures remain long after closing this book.
It is an unusual book that at first seems benign, but under it's calm first chapters a plot is boiling that takes your heart away.
Stay with this to the end & it will soften your heart to life & perhaps help you remember something in your own lifeyou had thought locked away.

TWISTS and TURNS until the END !

To keep you guessing until the end, Graham Moor has a clever way of moving it all along. Sometimes this was TOUGH to listen to as the author introduced the stranger facts of a rich family. Could this really be true that a Father, Mother & daughter have this relationship ... I will not define that here as I would give away the secrets to unfold as you listen to two different lives played out One a juror and one the victim or were there more than one victim...Read it and find out if you could solve it before the last page is turned !

Crazy, Crazier, Craziest

Was it the CRAZIEST bunch of CHARACTERS or was it the CRAZIEST STORY ever or was I CRAZY to keep listening ? ! ?
This book kept getting more weird page by page... It did therefore have that ability to stick in your brain.
Without giving away to story it is definitely a CRAZY listen!
Hello to Rye Curtis for keeping the story moving all over the map of a person's mind ! It was a good Winter listen that made you appreciate your nice warm home and life !

0NLY LISTEN TO THIS IF YOU ARE READY TO GIVE IT YOUR HEART AND SOUL. IT WILL NEED YOUR FULL TIME ATTENTION TO IMPACT YOU THE WAY THE AUTHOR WANTS IT TO IMPACT YOU TOTALLY!
Good and hard hitting with no truth spared of what if happening south of our border.
Please listen only if you want to make a difference in your heart and not put the book down & forget !

THIS COULD MAKE A GREAT MOVIE !

TOO FUNNY ! JUST WHAT I NEEDED FOR A GRAY WINTER DAY !!
It will make you laugh for sure ! A REAL Funny Bone Story, of a rather ODD GUY, that you can see in your mind, and may even know one like this ...or bits of yourself !
There just isn't enough of just enjoyable , fun books written !

PRETTY GOOD EXCEPT THE ENDING

IT HAD TO GO SOMEWHERE, BUT THAT ENDING SEEMED A BIT IMPOSSIBLE.. HOW COULD IT BE THAT BETH SHOWS UP OUT OF NOWHERE TO BECOME ALICE'S BEST FRIEND? COULD IT BE THAT NATHAN HAD USED THE NAME OF ALICE'S HUSBAND ? REALLY ??? A LOT OF VERY UNBELIEVABLE TWISTS STUCK IN TO THROW OFF NORMAL LOGIC.

INTERESTING IN HOW IT CAME TOGETHER

AT FIRST I HAD A HARD TIME DEFINING THE GIRLS...VOICES AND ACCENTS SOUNDED SO ALIKE TO ME. IT WAS WOVEN FROM A DIFFERENT VIEWPOINT. THOSE WHO ARE CAPTURED, TWO BEST FRIENDS AND THE LIVES THEY WERE TRYING TO LIVE. FINALLY, IT ALL CAME TOGETHER & I COULD SEE WHAT AND WHY THE AUTHOR WANTED THEM NOT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPEN TO EACH OTHER .

A GOOD WHO DONE WHAT TO WHOM

JUST ENOUGH STORY & BACKGROUND OF EACH CHARACTER TO MAKE THEM FUN & SO REAL!
A little hard to follow the people by the accent & the reader didn't have enough variation in her voice to keep them straight for my taste !
Some times I rewound to get what had happened, as it took meat least 3 times re-p[laying the ending to get it straight...Maybe that is the sign of a author...confusion until the reveal ! I love all things British & this was a new area of WWII I knew nothing about.. but I am sure , just like the U.S.A. at that time we all planted home gardens to help out with our economy & families. I know my Mother and Father had a garden, chicken & bees in a city lot !
