Hal Elrod became one of the most successful salesman in his company by the age of
20. He was having a good relationship, his family was very happy and he was having a good life. But one day, he was returning home after delivering his speech..on his way back, he was hit by a car driven by a drunken guy at 70km per hour. It was a really bad accident, he had his arms and legs broken, lungs got punchered and also had many severe internal injuries...he was almost dead for 6 minutes, and then the paramedics revived him and took him to hospital.and he was in coma for six days. When he opened his eyes at the hospital, the doctors told him that his brain was permanently damaged and he will never walk again. After hearing this from the doctors, he became sad and shocked. But at the same time he remembered that one of his mentor's taught him that instead of thinking and worrying all day about any of the negative things in our life which we cannot change, just set a timer for 5 minutes and think about it..you can cry, be angry etc,,but only for 5 minutes and no more. Because an intelligent person will not worry or be sad all time for things which he cannot control in his life..he knows that instead of worrying about things he can't control, he should focus on things he can control. So Hal stopped worrying and accepted the reality. Now he has 2 options in his life. Maybe he will not walk in his life like the Doctor's said...and even if that happened, he thought that he will still be the happiest person on wheelchair...or he may prove the Doctor's wrong..and will walk again...thinking about these 2 future possibilities, he became more relaxed and calm..and he started behaving lightly and playfully at the hospital. On seeing his behaviour, the Doctor's thought that this poor guy doesn;t want to accept the fact and is in shock. But then the Doctor's noticed a strange thing, he was recovering fast..so fast that he started walking in 3 weeks and proved them wrong. After the Recovery, Hal was back to his normal life with more confidence...and he also broke many sales records in his company, made a lot of money..and started his own business, got married..bought a new house...and everything was going well from him..until 2007. In 2007, the economy crashed, which directly affected his business....and this was the worst time in his life. He was getting Poorer by the day. He was getting depressed, so his wife suggested he take some advice from one of his friends, who's a really rich guy and made lots of achievements even at that bad time. So Hal told about all his problems to his friend and asked him for some tips on business...to which his friend said that "You don;t need business tips, you just need to do 2 things, 1. wake up early in the morning and do some exercise..2..read any books on self improvement.." Hal doesn't liked this advice at all.But he decided to follow it anyway..Even one of the Mentor's of Hal also told him that it is very important to have a morning ritual and it is directly related to your success in life.Because those who have control over their morning, have control over their day. Successful morning routine sharpens our brain and mind, which helps us to be more productive throughout the day. So Hal decided that he will not only wake up early and exercise, instead he will find out the best of the best habits of the most successful people in their morning routine..and combine them to form a ritual. Hal does research and finds 6 important and common habits which almost all successful people follow in common. Hal combined all the six habits togher in his morning routine. When he started this routine, he was on 50,000 dollar debt, his house was almost due foreclosure also he was unhealthy and sad. But after 2 months of following the routine, he doubled his income, saved his house..and after a little longer, he also ran an ultra marathon....and became a very happy person. The same guy to whom doctors said that he will never walk in his life, ran an ultra marathon...all these changes happened so fast that even Hal got surprised..that's why he named this book ' Miracle morning' and all the things that happened to him in his life were nothing less than a miracle. The following were the six miracle habits that changed the author's life which you should also follow in your life every morning
S A V E R S
1. S for ' Silence', which means meditation or prayer. Most of us think about many things immediately after waking up..or read the paper, check your mobile phone ..etc..
But successful people never do that, they do prayer, yoga or meditation after waking up..which relaxes their brain. This also increases the peak performance level of the brain.
2. A for 'Affirmation', is very powerful . technique used by many successful people. It is s a positive statement which we say to ourselves again and again so that it gets stuck to our subconscious mind. To which our brain thinks true and forms the same way in reality as well.
For ex ; if you repeatedly say that you are a confident person, then that statment gets accepted in your subconscious mind and then becomes reality.
3. V for 'Visualization' which is pretty much similar to Affirmation. In Affirmation you make something stuck in your subconscious mind by repeating it whereas in Visualization, you use your imagination, think about the things you want in reality and form its images in your brain.
For ex ; When Hal had to go for the marathon practice, at the beginning he was having many problems.. But later, he started Visualising just one hour before practice, that he was jogging and having a smile on his face and feeling great. So after visualising this, he felt it very easy to go to practice.
4. E 'Exercise', Doing exercise early morning has huge scientific benefits. It helps to supply more oxygen to your brain, the brain releases Endorphin, it clears your thinking and helps you to feel better. your energy level goes up for the entire day and many more benefits you get through exercise.
5. R 'Reading', as per Hal, reading doesn't mean to read love stories or novels, but to read the books which help you to grow and develop..like self help books.
6. S' Scribing' means writing your goals, dreams. There is something magical about writing down your dreams and goals which in turn helps them to transfer them into reality.
Richard Brandson, a billionaire says " Best thing which has helped me to become a billionaire and which you can do is to always carry a book and pen with you, right down your thoughts and ideas"

I am Lucky that I have read this book
Revisado: 02-06-21
Luck is something which some people have in abundance while maximum people never feel it's presence in their life. But the truth is that luck can be created in your life if you really want it. There are mainly 5 big takeaway from this book which you should follow in your life.
1.PREPARE YOURSELF TO BE LUCKY
Author says that there is a difference between Luck and Chance.Winning a lottery is not actually lucky...it's a game of chance and probability. Real luck happens when Talent, Hardwork and Chance intersect eachother.
For ex : In 2016, experts assumed that English Football team Leicester City F C has only one in 5000 chance to win the premier league. which means it's next to impossible, the experts also have the analysis also to support this data. The last time this team had ever played on finals was on 1928. But this time something really unexpected happened, they played exceptionally well and even win the premiere league. Then the experts began to say that "They are lucky". But the real truth is that this time the team had real talented players and also their practise and Hardwork was also there. So this is what the author says if you put your Talent, Hardwork and right oppurtunities ( Chance) Luck happens.
2.PICK THE STATISTIC YOU WANT TO BE
Many reaseraches and studies show that in America, more than 33% people are overweight. But this doesn't mean that if you live in America, you have 33% more chance to be overweight. You can always choose to eat healthy, exercise and watch your diet..So you can decide that on which statistics you should be part of. Many people are misleaded by watching these numbers or statistical studies.
For ex : You see an AD on TV that says "If you use our products, your chances of having a certian disease will decrease. But the truth maybe you already have almost next to nil chances of having that disease. So statistics and Odds, are just numbers and our actions will be decided by the type of our emotions which we connects with these numbers...that is if I say that you have 50% chance of winnning this competition, one can say positvley that " oh..I have 50% chance of winning"..or one can take it negativley and say, " oh..I have 50% chance to loss"
3 DON'T ALWAYS FOLLOW THE PATH OF OTHERS
Most people make the mistake of copying others. They will see that in Life, or business.. Somebody is being sucessfull by doing a certain thing, then others will also try to copy them. But the truth is that Oppurtunities and Luck will always move, So instead of going after what other's are doing, you should create your own path..it is called systematic unprecdictability. doing thing unpredictabily is one of the best survival skills for any species. Because being unpredictable seperates our path from others, which increases the oods and chances for our sucess.
For Ex : Richard Douglas Fosbury, was interested in sports. He used to try football, Basket ball..and all..but the result was dissapointing, he was a below average performer. He doesn't had natural talent for any sports. Then he decided to tey high jump. At that time High Jump had only 2 popular ways to perfrom, and when he did that ways, he was still performing below average. Then one day, he invented a different style to do High Jump, he did backward flip while performing high jump, and he got better results from that. But professionals didn't liked this at all and they always criticised him, mocked him and even told him " you are wasting your time by doing this". But he suprised everyone when he got qualified for the Olyimpics and won Gold medal. So imagine despite being so many odds against him, he suceeded. bBecause he didn't followed other's path, he created his own path.
4 THE POWER OF PRESISTENCE AND PASSION
Author interwieved many highly sucessfull actors and directors..and there was a pattern ..they never quit trying and also are very passionate for what they are doing.
For Ex: Jonathan, Who was an actor..thinks of himself as the luckiest person in the world. Because his first movie was so perfect, the script, director and all his co actors..and because of that, the movie was a hit. But the truth is that Jonathan had a burning desire to be an actor..when he was really young, he liked to sing and dance, he was born in a small village which doesn't have any oppurtunities for him. So he took action from his part , he moved from his village to Newyork city, took acting classes while working as a waiter, one day..a customer swa him at the restaurent and offered him a small role in acting, he took that role, and after that he made many conncetions in the industry, which leads to him polaying a lead role in a youth series, and then when the series was over, he againg started struggling hard, went throuth many auditions and finally landed his big role .. So if you continue to keep trying, then it will dramatically increases your chances of being suceed
this last one is my favourit
5 THE PYGMALIAN EFFECT
Scientists Rosenthal and Jacobson conducted an expermient. ..the result of the experiment was like, when teachers had an high expectation from a student, then the student also have high expectations from himself and because of that, he works more hard, and because of that, his results will also be better. And on the other hand, teachers had low expextaions from some students, and these students performed below average, because they also had low expectations from themselfs. Higher expectations will produce better results and better results will produce hifgher expectations for next time, so it is like a paradox..and this is called the Pygmalian Effect.
So the main thing here is, if you believe that you are lucky, then you will be more optimistic and perform better, and this will gave us better results..
