I absolutely loved this story! I'm a big fan of the paranormal romance novels. this one was great because it wasn't the usual stupid high school/college girl falling in with guys. this had a mature woman, strong and family driven.

Read the Elemental Magic series first!

I struggled in the beginning because nowhere did it say this was part of a continuous series. I kept going back to think I accidentally skipped a chapter or something. I did some research and found out this is the second half of the Coven series. Good story overall and I Love Vanessa Moyan.

Great backstory if you can get past the first few

Great backstory is you can get past the first few chapters of angry Grace. This book takes place during the few months that Grace was stone between books 1 and 2. after the first part where she hated Hudson again, I absolutely loved it. I wish they only had one narrator though and not two. Still a great read that has me chomping at the bit for the next book.

I absolutely love this series! Every time the next book is released I go back and read the old ones again first. I love the characters and their development. It's nice.that Grace isn't a pushover like some female characters.

female narrator is awful

The female narrator needs to be replaced. I like the story but when she tries to do a male voice she sounded like Tonto from the old Lone Ranger shows where they made fun of Indians speaking in a choppy manner. Please record it again because the more I listen the more offended i get

Narrator ruined the story.

The story sounded like it would be great, and maybe if I read the actual book it would be. The narrator ruined this story for me. The whiny way she read some voices and horrible accents were only made worse my mispronounced words. I just couldn't stick with it to the end.

Good story but annoying narrator.

I enjoyed this story but gave up listening to read the book because I couldn't stand the narrator. He was fine for some parts but found myself cringing every time I knew "Quinn said" was coming. just the way he said it for some reason was like nails on a chalkboard to me. I couldn't do it.

Great mix of science and story!

I loved this book! I loved the science interludes, although those who aren't big on science could still easily read the story without understanding the science behind it. I teach AP Biology and before I was even half way through the book I was thinking of how I could get my school to buy me 60 copies and incorporate it into my genetics and inheritance unit. I am always looking for books that have some kind of science thread for my end of year project, but this one is definitely one I would ask my entire class to read and link to our material.

Hard to follow

I struggled to finish this book and just gave up after a while, forcing myself to listen. The narrator didn't make any attempt to change her voice for different characters. The names of the characters were unusual, which would have been fine if the narrator didn't make them all sound identical while rushing through the reading. The story sounded interesting, but we'll never know if I would have truly enjoyed it.
